But frankly it's not as if th Evo X was the most fun to drive. The VIII and IX are a lot more entertaining to drive.

I agree with this. The Evo X is just too big, granted the handling is nimble for a car it's size & hefty weight.

Yes it's a heavy car compared to the other evos but the handling and the way the car rotates its very good. Granted all the techno-gadgets made that possible but to me it was still fun. Either way I don't own one anymore so it doesn't matter now.

I was tuned on e85 making about 360whp/380wtq so the 200hp brz is SLOW but it's still just as fun! I'm also saving money on car note, maintenance and fuel economy which was a big reason for trading it. I will be going turbo/e85 on the brz so ill get to feel that power again and probably won't miss the Evo at all. Only time and mods will tell...
Mine is at 391hp/392tq tuned by me. It is a beast i love it and will never sell it but I love my limited. I'm around 200hp now with every Perrin part they sell. I plan UEL and that will call it good. Plus rims of course. I strongly recommend H&R super sport springs. Feels like I didn't even add all the parts and drop. Rides as smooth as day 1

Nice! I already bought eibach sportlines and a borla catback. Eventually ill go with a nice set of coilovers. I'm also leaning towards uel headers for the sound specially combined with a turbo. I wish I could've kept the Evo but my pockets ain't that deep lol.

I have an VIII and I've only driven once since I bought my BRZ. The BRZ is a much better daily driver, especially the limited.

I hated the heavy clutch and the terrible gas mileage even off boost, but the performance is just amazing, especially in the snow with proper snow tires. If I lived somewhere that had significant snowfall every year then I probably would keep the Evo.

Really? I thought the GSR vs. MR debate was done by now.

IMO Evos are not sports cars, they are fast cars. There's a difference.

It's a matter of technique.

Evos are about speed at any cost, and they are damn quick but they require very little from the driver. The BRZ and FR-S, by comparison, give wildly different results based on driver skill. That's where the "sport" side of driving comes into play.

To me they've always felt categorically different, but that doesn't mean they're any less cool or worthwhile. I miss my Evo a lot.

The Evo and the STI are the same. Tarted up econoboxes meant to eke out performance no matter what with the help of electronics and AWD. Sporty? More than your average car. Sports car? Neither are; the 86 isn't either, but it's infinitely closer.

Question:

On an unknown mountain road - which will give you more confidence? Evo or brz/frs?

I don't have a brz, but have an Evo x, and on a twisty mountain road- nothing gives me more confidence than this car. I feel like I can throw it into a corner and it will just take it. My s2k never did that - an Evo is like safety blanket that gives you that extra sense of security to really go fast.

my evo hands down makes me feel safer. my brz has taken me on 180's several times, and a few 360's. now i was purposely trying to drift cause, well its fun, but i want to practice it and learn how to do it well, and use the skill for taking back sweepers as well.

and for the guy that said the evo is just a 4 door fast car or whatever, you do know it is considered in the super car category right? yes it is the bottom of the list, literally, but it is still on it.
