My personal experience is no, assuming they are angled correctly. It's like venation blinds on a window. When they are opened correctly you don't even notice them, particularly with wide spacing.

Exactly. And helps block some sunlight from the rear deck, which maybe keeps the car cooler. Oh I can justify this in so many ways... TOYOTA BRING THIS TO MARKET! I am emailing them right now.
