I hope they use some lexus HID projectors and not the Camry's. I would love some RX350s or SC430 variant in these headlights

Catless isn't legal, anyone can smell that s*** from 200 feet away, I wouldn't run that.

@snoopyalien24 The thing with this car is the engine isn't that big, so it doesn't "counterbalance" the rest of the weight of the car as much, which has a higher center of mass. With a hulking Ferrari engine, mounting it low will really lower the CoG. The LFA engine is light for a V10 but it weighs more than a 4 cylinder for sure. Not to mention those cars probably ride a lot lower, I'm pretty sure this car won't scrape the ground nearly as much.

Then again, this might be a great All-Motor performer rather than a turbo one.

For those complaining about the torque output. On the track, this means you will spend most of your time on the throttle rather than modulating it due to fear of traction loss from spinning the wheels.

But for drifting...torque in the mid-range I would imagine would be better suited and a good amount of torque is preferred.

I've been running catless for over 2 years on my Si (which is too loud IMO) and havent had any issues

240 may be possible at the crank putting about 215 to the wheels. I feel like that could be fun depending on the tq curve. Still would like the see a S/C option come from somewhere.

Well, I give them credit for building a car that will probably out MX5 the MX5.

It sounds brilliant.

Now.
Give.
Me.
Turbo.

I don't want a new Miata, and if I did, I'd buy the Mazda Speed one.

Boxer motors may have a nice low center of gravity, but I am incredibly disapointed to learn that even with DI, a very high CR, premium fuel, and whatever super-wazoo variable head they built, it still makes less than a 2.0 liter Honda engine from 5 years ago.

Dammit.

For the love of Christ, please make the ECU reflashable and tuner friendly... argh.

this is a quote from the feedback the engineers that worked on this project said about the engine

"Not much is exactly shared with the Subaru engine except the flat four configurations. However, the external mounting points remain the same as the Subaru EJ20, shared for very obvious reasons. That is so YOU can use a Subaru engine to swap if you PREFER the Subaru engine for racing. Why bother with complex fabrication, if Subaru has something you can use from 11 years of WRC?"

you ca drop an STI engine in there like freaking legos!

Even if it was legal to run catless, emissions enforcement being a state by state thing, I couldn't run catless with Gasoline. That sulfur smell would offend everyone I know. If I had a sulfur free fuel, I might.
