What oil will Toyota dealerships put in are FRS?
I've heard conflicting answers on what type/brand will dealerships put in are FRS. I've heard some dealerships will put in any bulk 0W-20 oil while I've also heard some dealerships will only put in OEM Toyota 0W-20. Does it depend on the dealership? Do they change the crush washer as well? I want to use the 5 free oil changes we get but I won't use it unless they are putting in OEM 0W-20.

The dealer I got my FR-S from started using Eneos last summer.
Like what's been said already, you'll have to ask what they are using. In the past, I've brought all my own stuff and taped the crush washer to the filter box. |

It varies from dealer to dealer. Dealers that participate in the Toyota Genuine Motor Oil program often advertise it somewhere in the dealership and only use Toyota oil. Most dealerships, from my experience, use bulk oil from whatever company they've contracted with. You could always ask the dealer to use Toyota oil when you bring them your car.

Thanks guys. I guess I will just call around and ask. Even though i'm still at 2500ish miles the sticker says 5k miles or 6 months for next service, which i've had my car for 6-7 months now.

My dealership uses bottled Toyota genuine 0-w20 synthetic crush washer is changed at every service. Almost all new vehicles are taking the Toyota 0-w20. Can't speak for others but that's what my dealer uses and most others should if warranty issue arise later Toyota may review service records to see what type of oil was used and if the dealer was using incorrect oil it would fall back on them. Believe it or not in some extreme cases I have seen fuel and oil samples sent out to labs for further analysts.

For the most part yes but in some instances repair orders are reviewed to see what type of oil was used and if numbers don't jive there may be further investigation. For example when the 2nd gen Prius came out customers were experiencing poor gas mileage it was found that the bulk oil being used didn't meet the specs for the Prius so only Toyota bottled oil was used until our bulk oil situation was sorted out.

I'm well aware of that. I work at dealership what I am referring to is what type of oil the "dealer" is putting in service vehicles. I hope this clarifies things.
