Oh yea if the CoG is 460mm, and the Ferrari 360 is 447, lowering it half an inch will get you to Ferrari CoG lol.

I think the first post needs to be edited, that chart isn't a dyno chart! Hold up lemme pull up where that picture came from, I am 100% positive I've seen it before.

EDIT: http://www.sae.org/automag/techbrief...1-114-1-17.pdf
page "18", the chart looks exactly the same.

Also for the people marvelling at 0.27 C_d, it's actually not amazing. Toyota cars are all under 0.28-0.27 I think, besides trucks. Smooth underbody panels, gently sloped rear = low drag. Lowering the car would improve that a tiny bit, as it reduces the area of tires exposed to the airstream, and reduces the amount of air going under the car (also helping stability).

That's what I'm hoping/thinking so hopefully they will be releasing a real dyno chart of the engine at the end of the month as well.

Great find! Plus, the diagram does stipulate it's just a "company estimate", telling us it's not actual.

It could be a placeholder image until they get actual dyno results. It seems like some things in the manual (the name of the car for example, and the price in the spec sheet) still need to be finalized.

Ah! Didn't notice that. ("company estimate") That would explain things.

Maybe a placeholder, but it's slightly different from the generic "D4-S is teh best" charts. There's a little kink in part of the power band that wasn't in other charts. Regardless, I'm just translating what's on there.

And another:

I think that's just the scan or maybe because the line they drew was fatter. I see the "extra kink", but when I go back to the 2GR article I can see the same thing. It's just a weird "straight" part of the graph.

I like how they clearly demonstrate wheel carrying capacity rather than typical items such as grocery bags or a plethora of soccer balls.

With multiple lift profiles you get multiple "humps"
I wanted to note this for the people new to Subaru motors here, but Subaru's ALWAYS have a funky dip in the torque curve, supposedly its due to the intake manifolds but I'm not 100% on this.

Here is the dyno from my car a few years back:

Thats from a SOHC EJ25, the two different lines are from bolt ons (intake/exhaust).

The FT does look to have a much more distinct bump due to the Direct Injection kicking it at higher RPM's, but that dip around the middle of the power band is still there.

I also want everyone who is complaining about the lack of torque to take note... The old EJ25's WITH torque, suck. They have no power after 3rd gear, and stop pulling after ~5000rpms.

This new motor in the FT86 will be MUCH more fun to drive!

27.5 inches of rear legroom. For comparisons sake, 1st gen IS300 had 30 inches and the last gen Celica had 27
