My point about that is that a $2000 set of wheels with paint/finish damage won't be worth $2000 anymore. But a set of $750 wheels could still be worth $750 with paint damage.

So unless someone is a magician and can magically keep their expensive wheels in perfect condition for years while driving the car, you are just throwing your money away.

You make no sense. So what your saying is a keyed corvette isn't worth its sticker price which i agree with, but a keyed aveo is?

Bet half of you guys who say "no knockoffs" would say no to a $1000+ carbon lip from a company like Powerhouse Amuse, but rather drop $400 on a Seibon copy.

If you mean a $1500 car won't loose value if the paint is ruined, then yes.

People looking for wheels in the $500 range care more about weight/size and just actually getting a set of wheels than getting a set of really nice looking, perfect condition wheels.

A good example would be the seats in my Impreza. JDM seats with an ugly stitching pattern that I bought for $500. They are still worth $500 after several years of use and still being ugly, because people want them for how the seat sits not how it looks.

The paint/powdercoating of a wheel I don't consider damage to a wheel. When I think of damage I think of curbing, bending, cracking, etc. Oneday may have that same impression.

Agree on the rest.

Yes, I am in the US and there are more Hollands in the US than just OH and MI .

Regardless of what you call the type of damage (I think of curbing a wheel as scraping it on a curb while parking or turning), wheels are not "wear" items. They are not guaranteed to need to be replaced after x number of miles. Calling a wheel a wear item is like calling a fender a wear item...sure it might get scratched or dinged, but you are not assured of that and then even if it does happen you might not need to replace it.

Holland, MA?

I'm originally from Toledo, OH so I knew of the OH and MI ones but all I can find on maps.google.com are OH, MI and MA lol

A lot of these companies aren't doing well because their products are just too overpriced. They can't realistically expect the market to support their prices in this economy.

Ebay catback - 200 bucks
solid run of the mill brand - 800 bucks
JDM TITE BLING Brand - 2k

Realistically, what are people going to choose?

Without the real companies making it first the knockoffs wouldn't exist, so it's not wise to never support the companies that actually do R&D.

A lot of cheap parts also have shit welds, shit materials, etc. Not all, but some.
