Of all the race car builds so far, the Trd griffon is my favorite. Adding lightness like a bauce.

I know, 70mph is about 3900rpm here. Fastest trip I ever made was a consistent 3800rpm, and my ears were ringing after 30 minutes. 3000rpm is already kind of droney for me, 2700 is the highest before I get really annoyed at the sound. Doesn't help that I can hear the alternator fan through the firewall, it sounds pretty cool when accelerating (like a supercharger) though.

So, I can't imagine sitting at 5000rpm for a significant period of time, that sound would drive me nuts.

I've now read the whole thread up to here, it is intriguing. Tell me please: You only changed the final gear to the 4.556, right? You did not (yet) put in the other Cusco gear mod of longer 1st and 2nd gear, right?

Do you plan to change the 1st and 2nd gear as well in the future?

Correct. I wont do a 1 and 2nd because for me this is for track days(road course) so I never use those lower gears. I would imagine an autocrosser mightwant those lowr gears swapped but I dont know. I havent autocrossed since nationals back in the EIGHTIES ! lol

Do the math, at 2200 lbs that thing is a BEAST ! even adding a cage at 110lbs its still a beast !

Its better to commit to the taller gear and put your foot down and save a shifter later when its possible.

Acid dipped chassis or got one from the production line before it gets coatings and sound deadening, too.
