TRD parts...power?

It is good to see all the look good parts from TRD but other than a free flow air filter, I wish there was a real choice to increase the engine power a bit...perhaps in the future.

That is in reference to coming from the factory. Never said TRD would not sell a kit.

Am I the only one that saw this car go from sexy concept to complete fanboy rice rocket? I am off the bandwagon after a year of hanging on.

I guess so. That's in your own eyes. To me, it's stayed true to what it was stated it was supposed to be, a pure drivers car. From the first drives, that's exactly what it is.

How do you know its a pure drivers car if you haven't driven it yet? You're saying from the looks, it can be deemed as a pure drivers car? I am stating my opinion of its looks, with no relation to its performance because we don't know what its going to perform like. (unless you believe anything sponsored road tests tell you)

I think all this hype has misconstrued peoples ideas of the car. Let's wait for it to actually be released before we jump to conclusions of how it feels to drive it, since i know you are purely speculating.

Well it was MADE to be a drivers car. When you take into consideration the COG, engine, weight etc, it will be a fun car to drive.

I think I clearly stated "From the first drives", that's what all the current reviews are called.. "First Drives" because it's preproduction and not a full test.

I don't believe magazine reviews completely. All have agreed with that though and it was the primary design goal the entire time so I'm hoping it's reality.

If I don't like the car when I drive it I wont buy one, but I also won't care enough to come bitch about it

I honestly don't care too much about it's performance numbers, I never have. I'm not a bench racer. All of the cars I've owned I've picked solely because I enjoyed driving them, not because they were fast, or had xx HP, etc.

Uhhh... He specifically said "From the first drives" referring to the magazine reviews of the mule test drives. They have come back raving about the car!

They would be easy to miss with all the news that's been coming out in the last few days.

Lots of reading, lots of useless bitching, but over all I enjoy what I see and to me it seems most of you are in the same category.

Been busy with life but when I go to bed I try to keep up with the news, there's been a lot of it lately! Least to say, I'm excited again, for the FT/FR - 86/S.

I noticed some people postulating that some suspension parts from the Impreza will fit on this car. And that performance parts for an EB motor might fit on the FT-86 engine. How likely do you think that will be? In my opinion Toyota / Subaru would make sure that no other parts from any existing vehicle would fit on the FT-86 or BRZ.

Cuts into profit margins :P And makes the term "All New" look like it always has... Same story, different cover. But mostly money. In the end they want to make money off the car, be it by selling the cars themselves and selling parts for it.

Also remember that most Press/Media test cars are "juiced" or fully optimized to instill the highest flattery of the platform. Ferrari is the most famous of all the "cheater press cars", but no OEM is too proud to offer up a straight-up off-the-line production car.

Engine's will be blueprinted, tuned, and fully broken-in
suspension will be higher spec [better damper curves, stiffer springs, stronger bushings, improved geometry with more expensive componentry]
brake pads and lines will be higher spec
interior materials may be improved or bespoke, but that's less common.

The actual production car is what matters, not what the media get to flog. My advice? Wait 'til the dealership gets a demo in-stock, and go drive that to form your own real-world perspective.

Toyota was too.. the Supra Twin Turbo was heavily "optimized" for reviews when it came out.
