6k HID's in!!!
I couldn't even wait 24 hours to put these in, a must have for projector headlights in my opinion!! Decided to go with the 6k for functionality rather than the 8k
![]() I also noticed when my headlights are off the daytime running lights are an ugly yellow, any solutions to this? did you guys change the bulb or did you guys just turn it off?? Any input on a solution to this would be greatly appreciated ![]() 6k hid retrofitted projectors in my old toyota tacoma:

Well I would suggest shutting them off via the ECU from the dealer. Then purchase F-T's LED DRLs. It is an LED strip that goes where the fog would go on the gt86. I have to admit it looks very OEM. I did a DIY on it and there is a group buy right now. Something to think about.

You can turn them off at the dealer (via reflash) if they are not legally mandated in your state. Or, just get LED DRL bulbs to match the 6000 K.
I suggest you bend down the squirrel finder (search the forum for info). Moderators please lock NOW, before all the naysayers come in and say he needs to remove his bumper, crack open his lights and swap the projectors.

Ok so i baked my headlights to black them out and took a peak at the squirrel finders. Honestly I dont know how people are doing it. I can barely fit my pinky finger in there and even then my finger is not strong enough to press that bad boy down. Especially considering its already on an angle correct?

anyone an expert at putting the headlights back together on the forum?? i told myself i would never rip my headlights apart again but the blackhouse looks soooooo much better than the mirrored oem , retrofitting my truck with projectors and black reflectors caused me sooo much pain everytime i got a car wash or it rained haha it was so bad

There is a very helpful DIY posted. I used that and everything went smoothly. Its really not hard, just unscrewing bolts and pulling out rivets really.

![]() i do know from experience that the oem headlight sealant that nissan sells is the best quality, i will try to find the part number for you guys, but everyone on the retrofit source seems to be wet over the sealant (i remember it costs something ridiculous like 50$ for a little tube) |

I managed to push my index finger into the hole for the bulb and push down the squirrel finders. If you have big or fat hands it would be tougher for sure but I had no issues.

i know thanks for the timely response and the help as well!! i've heard about people taking them to paint shops or body shops to get the lights blackhoused, i've learned that i am a very crappy DIY-er lol i am traumatized from retrofitting my old car and leaks i swear a goldfish could have lived in my headlights during rainy season lol, a reference to a professional job would be greatly appreciated from anyone |

I haven't open the FRS headlights yet, as I'm trying to see which projectors I want to swap in and then do black housing at the same time, but I have some experience in baking headlights, Del Sol, Accord, TSX, MDX and and caddy.. didn't have any condensation.. I don't mind givingg you a hand when I have time..
