Now to decide whether to wait for the new one, get this one now, or wait for the new one and maybe this one will be even cheaper!

I'm basically wanting a deep, non-ricey sound. I'm really not concerned with it being too loud, as long as it doesn't sound like a 2002 Honda Civic with a coffee can exhaust.

I keep listening to sound clips, mainly nameless and greddy sp elite, and the nameless seems louder, which I like.
Me too! The 3" one will be louder, non offset is what I'm looking for. Still keeping it catted and resonated though. I hate the ricey rasp that you're talking about as well. Also plans for a header, so definitely want a resonator and a front pipe cat for a catless header!

You might like the off set version if you want it even deeper and a bit quieter.

I don't have plans to do anything else (related to the exhaust), so I want to make sure ill be happy with whatever I buy.
There have been several people that sold their offset Nameless, saying it was too loud. Makes me wonder how loud the non-offset version is!

Are you wanting just the axleback or the downpipe as well? It's not super loud with just the axleback portion. The downpipe makes it quite a bit louder.

Just the axleback for now. If for some ungodly reason it's not loud enough, ill add the downpipe.

I know Nameless blame this on inconsistencies in the vehicle build but how many actually fit evenly? I get the impression that most of them have the right hand tip, looking from the rear, sticking out more than the left. You can see the way the hangers are being pulled that's it's not right.
The error can't be in the position of the vehicle hangers themselves, that makes no sense.
The error must be in the centre pipe rear flange angle/position and I would imagine the early model they used as a pattern had a problem there.
Perhaps if the centre pipe is badly positioned at it's 'variable?' front connection to the downpipe, it could distort the axleback position?

Mine sticks out more on the right but I can live with it because it's not enough to be obvious. 10mm difference to be exact.

I sent them an email a few hours ago asking if that issue had been fixed. I'm sure they'll reply when they open in the morning.

Are installation instructions included? I don't know how much it would be to get this installed at a muffler shop, and I tend to screw up everything I install myself, but may give it a shot...

Piece of cake to install the axleback!
You don't even need to jack it up. Just undo the 2 nuts and bolts joining it to the centrepipe and then it's hanging by the 4 rubber mountings. Spray a bit of silcone into where the exhaust hangers go through them and then use a big screwdriver to ease them over one at a time.
If you lay some cardboard under there you wont scratch the new one or the old one on the ground.
Best to use a new gasket and make sure the face of the centrepipe is clean. Then hang the new one on the rubber hangers and bolt it up with that new gasket.
All finished. 30min at a snails pace.

Whomever sold the offset because it was too loud, don't pay attention to those reviews. It has to be someone that really wanted very little above stock. Only Axleback BOTH are fairly quiet. the Non-offset has a bit more growl, a bit higher tone. Sound is the same on both, you just need to decide which one to get.
Since you have already stated you are not doing anything else to exhaust DEFINITELY go with NON Offset.

About the tips, really it is a non-issue. I know there are some people that are super OCD and NEED everything to be perfect to the mil.... But they look just fine.

I'm 63 so it me longer than it used to for these things.
Get a long bar on a socket to crack the nuts. It's a bit restricted under there but after that it's plain sailing.
If you haven't got the axleback from Nameless yet, ask them to supply the new gasket. I got mine from Toyota but Subaru would probably be cheaper.
$27!!!!!! in Oz Then I matched it and got another 2 for $6 each elsewhere.

Just get organised and take your time.
Spray some of that silicone on the nuts before you start. It will be loud enough.

If you have ramps, or scrap wood i recommend rolling the back of the car up so u have more space under the car.

Also as mentioned, make sure you have a long ratchet or extention to break the bolts free on the stock exhaust. Mine were REALLY tight. And if you have some grease it helps a lot when removing/reinstlalling the hangers. Also- don't take the bubble wrap off the tips till you're done just incase, and lay down the box or some flat cardboard under your work space to prevent scratches.

If you can have someone help it actually makes the job a lot easier as one person can hold the axleback in position while the other takes off the hangers, and when re-installing them. I ended up lying under the car and held it up with my knees but if you're bigger then 5'9 it will probably be a bit cramped.
