It just seems like some stick closer than others. Think 2010 Camaro. It wasn't exactly the same but pretty damn close. As for cost, how much more does differently shaped steel and plastic cost? I don't know, it just seems like car companies are afraid to take a risk and build what the designers conceptualized.

Designers and engineers rarely agree. There's likely many many reasons why concepts never hit production without change. Cost, safety, cooling, stability, aero, etc. Looks good doesnt mean functions good.

^HDR photos gives a different tone than IRL. Realistically that car is much darker.

It could be argued that the production Camaro followed the prototype too slavishly. It's received constant criticism for its poor visibility due to its style-first bunker-slit greenhouse. When I sat in it I couldn't believe a GM exec actually signed off on such an unsafe design (and no I am not unduly short - 5'11" actually).

Agreed, the visibility in the Camaro is about the worst EVER in such a popular production car. The convertible does help a lot though.

I'm not buying this car because I don't want to stand out of the crowd.

A nice brightly colored car small car = less likely to not be seen in someones blind spot and get squished.

Beater cars are for going places you might get vandalized.

.....and the odo says 123,000 km too!

I wonder if the Subaru will be available in the Galaxy Blue Silica as well. I like the countdown to the Tokyo Motor show on the top of the page.
