[QUOTE=The Slow One;666508]Hello fellow 86 owners!
What is everyone's thoughts on a state gathering/meet? @Do Boy and I have been throwing ideas for possible a state gathering for our cars. We were thinking using Harris Hill Raceway as the central gathering point. We figured that would be a somewhat central location that gives us track time and plenty of places to eat. Theres also plenty of hotels all around there. If there is enough interest, I will contact H2R for pricing and see if any hotels around there will give us special pricing. Time frame is still undecided but we were thinking maybe around the fall season. Maybe in September or October? What is everyone's thoughts/opinions/ideas? We would love to have a state meet like the s2000 Homecoming or the Supra nationals! Roll Call: 1. The Slow One 2. Do Boy 3. VenaSera 4. 5hairpins 5. Ive organized a few state wide 3000gt/stealth meets and they always end up in late october or early november for the weather. I always hate trying to rally sponsors so i generally eat a few hundred in award costs... Plaques are like $20 to $25 a piece so you could give out a few awards on the cheap.
Got these at hit trophy .com

Another idea might be Driveway Austin. Its a smaller track, but its might be good for the smaller number of people we may have. I imagine it'd be cheaper to rent the track for the day than one of the bigger ones like Harris Hill. I've been karting on the shorter Driveway course and its a blast! A buddy of mine used to drive his M Coupe out there on a weekly basis and loves it.

I've heard offhand that H2R charged $2200 for track rental, which sounds pretty cheap to me. This may have been a 'frequent renter' discount, but it's the only baseline I have.
