It's been some time since I've owned those cars, but on my BMW's I used to use a version like you posted, but are magnetic. So you can easily remove them when not needed. Maybe someone out there will make them for the twins?

I would pay to have those removed from my car, not put on.

our cars are too low those things won't be useful. Other cars' doors have those curves that'll still ding the poor little 86.

best way to prevent ding is to always carry two orange traffic cones in your trunk. whenever you park, put the two cones at the parking spots on either sides.

even better... install a proximity sensor that triggers a flame thrower. That'll make someone think twice about parking next to you.

The convex nature of our doors does make me a bit nervous at times, but they're worlds better than the Z3's were. Those were out right bulbous and seemed to attrack door dings like a magnet. But I agree those protectors make the body look ugly.

Another possible solution, flame throwers probably frowned upon!

That would probably work, but it's really ugly and, from the looks of it, cumbersome to put on and remove. You might as well train a monkey to stand guard.

Just paid $75 for someone to repair my door ding. The magnetic one would be nice since you can remove it when you don't need it.
