Hey Sal, that asphalt FR-S was probably me, just picked it up 2 weeks ago. I thought I saw someone flick high beams. I'll look for you next time

This is the one I always use for tinkering with sizes.

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

I was going to do 225/40-18 on 18x8 +42
I have changed to 245/40-17 on 17x8 +42

I would do 17x8.5 if WedsSport TC105N's came in that size. But, they don't, so 17x8 it is. @thorlius 9.5 would be too wide in my opinion for 245 tires, it would be a little stretched, but I know lots on people here have done it. It's personal preference really. But, before you do it, check out pictures of what it would look like.

Guess whos this is.

9 days from order, to arrival.

The soon-to-be owner needs to call me (or post or PM) If you would like the front plate mounted, many people do not want holes in the bumper if they are planning to add something like this.

I have one and I love it.

My point is that 9.5 inches converts to 245mm (241 actually) mathematically. So why doesn't it follow that those sizes line up?

8 inches is 203mm. With 245s on the back that's a 21% stretch.

A tire's spec is never equal to its actual physical dimensions. To take it a step further, a specific size (say the OEM 215/45 R17) will vary between tire manufacturers. I've seen this first hand with a multitude of 205/50 R15 tires. Heck, my 205/50 R15 RE-11s on 7" wide rims are a lot wider than the OEM Primacys.

Was wondering if I should go in earlier. Was told 6000km but I'm just at 3300 or so after 3 months. 6 months is good?

I am at 4268 km and 6 months. Maximum (if I remember correctly) is 8000 km or 6 months (whichever comes first). I live pretty close to work and I am sure it doesn't hurt to do the first one a little early.

Demandred7 Ya, 6000 was just suggested for the 1st one. I just thought it was suggested I take my old car in every 3 mths. Have good relationship with my dealer, so I'm sure he would have hauled me in if I was going too long. lol
Everything was good at your service though? Nothing unexpected?

Drove into Toronto this morning in all that crap and have to say the slushy lane changes were awesome with the steering being all mine! My old fwd was always a battle in the snow & slush.
Love my FR-S!!!

Pretty simple oil change, check fluids, brakes, lights, lube hinges. No surprises.

It was fairly quick. My son came along and played in the play structure. I bought a touch-up pen (I clipped one of the kids toys in the garage).

They had an MT Ultramarine in the waiting area. A couple was checking it out when the service advisor asked them what they thought of it. I cringed when I heard them respond with "it's cute". Uggh - cute - really?! That is definitely not the way I see the car.

It definitely sounds smoother. It was ready for an oil change.
