Thanks mackeye, i'm glad that the snow is almost away here. Was it fun to drive in the snow? You don't need to wash your car it's going to rain from tomorrow

I'm getting to know my car slowly and driving on snow is not always easy although I didn't encounter any issue. But it's surely fun when you have some space to turn the back of your car sideways

Hello pro_djke.
No problems so far.
Except from restraining myself to pass those max rpm's. Even with the shift flash light and the 'beep' set at 4000. That 'beep' would be one of my comments. It's way to silent !!!
I have to admit, I didn't take it out in the snow. With the aero kit there are so many edges that it's not fun to clean it, and I'm afraid of putting her in the carwash (not sure it'd work well either).

With the snow it was easy to get back-end out, I tried it a while ago (for "testing" purpose offcourse). Left the electronic nanny's on, I didn't had that much space to do crazy things. I could really push it hard while the electric thingys sorted it all out and kept the car straight, too bad it did it also when I was taken a corner sideways.

Yesterday I also had the tail hanging out without even pushing it (really hard).
Driving 35km/u , 2500 rpm all the electronics on.
Luckily the car is easy to control.
It was on a fast roundabout.

I don't like the electronic nanny in 'standard' mode. To my taste it's coming in very abrubtly, and totally disturbes the car's balance. Especially on very slippery surface the thing prioretises on getting the car straight, and it doesn't care if you're turning or not.

I have an Avensis as well and with it's VSC+ system on I already crashed into one of those massive concrete 'flower pots' which are used to make roads slower in my village. The stupid thing drove the car straight in !

On the 86, the car behave so much nicer, smoother and predictable in the vsc 'sports' mode. And it'll try to save the day if you'd really loose it. I have the back frequently breaking out 1 meter and the nanny wasn't yet overruling what I was doing. Is a nice compromise in my eyes.

Interesting to read your feedback, I personally can't stand the VSC sport mode.

Either it's fully on, in which case the car will go where the steering wheel points, no matter what... Or it's off and the rear is free to break loose naturally.
I find the intermediate mode particularly unsettling when it kicks in, I decided to always be either fully on or fully off.

Luckily the engineers gave us the opportunity to choose !
With the electronics on, it's like my mom sitting next to me ... or even worse : she's driving !
In the sports mode at least the LSD needs to work (you don't only feel it, but the smell of that thing when it's been working !!!). I have gone fully around a ... roundabout in controlled drift, and the electronics never even kicked in.
But we both agree ... the 'all off' mode is the real McCoy. My kids love it, it's the only way to do decent donuts LOL.
