That's no reason for him to down talk others. And clearly, he was wrong.

I wasn't wrong about anything. Everything I said is 100% correct. I've been doing this for 10 years and have completed 100+ conversions on over 10 platforms. I did this conversion in a single day with zero downtown to the owner and to OEM fit and finish. I was simply commenting on good execution but poor philosophy.

The gasket is pretty stiff and I'm afraid if I tighten it too much the plastic would crack. I understand the reason for the thick gasket is to keep it water tight. I was really hoping it would be a tighter fit and the cargo lights would be brighter but it shouldn't leak and it is very tinted very dark so....... it is what it is.

Quit being a lazy ass and make the kit!

At this point the blue gauges seem so normal that I would probably be very thrown off if I got into a BRZ with the factory amber.

I would be happy enough with a kit to change the fan/temp dials and the clock to proper red on the FRS. I can't solder so I'd even pay for new chipboards with the red LEDs attached if they were not insane expensive.

All red clusters are actually why I took the BRZ off the list. At least BMW is finally getting the picture and moving to contrasting colours.

The clock is actually extremely easy to change out, the temp dials take a little bit more skill.

Finally something that best resembles the actual shade of blue in person:

The dead spot for the red line needs to be fixed, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

So any more movement on this DIY or should I just yank my HVAC controls and sort it out myself? Everything else is red, that orange island in my console is driving me nuts.

After reading through the whole thread it seems to me that Acree has been a bit elitist about his skills here assuming no one else is capable of doing what he does. Its fine to have an ego man but you're not the only guy here that has the skill set necessary to do this. Get off the high horse and write up the diy, Or put up some prices to start doing it yourself and earning some $$ for your talent. Otherwise quit dangling the carrot in front of the donkey.
