bare in mind the customize grade does not have AC or ANY audio speakers. curiously, it DOES have keyless remote entry.

I leave for a couple days and I can't even catch up on all this news! This is some great news though, although much is confirmed of what we already thought. I hope the high-spec will be available through Scion, or at least a base where I can add alot of the high-spec options to it so I can build the car I want. It looks like a good week for us guys! Let's hope USDM specs in terms of options will be similar.

They don't mention differance in brake? The low spec have the same front caliper as the high one ?

Anyway in US I bet the high spec model will be the only one available.

I can't read Japanese but so far no one here who can has pointed out sizing, caliper specs, etc. Lots of us would LOVE to know them though!!

Bare bones at 1190 isn't as large of a difference from the base at 1210 as I was expecting. But I guess that is a great starting point.

Of course they will have the bottom model, too, with nothing on it.

I'm good with brake upgrades on all four corners but it takes a pretty piss poor brake design to actually need it, or a shitload more power on track, then you need bigger heatsinks (aka rotors) all around to handle the additional heat from braking at higher speeds.

The car does not need the abovementioned calipers, but the modulation feel those calipers provide are so good! That's why I said "free money".

Even on a hefty 3,200 lb car with more than double the FR-S horsepower, those calipers provide sensational performance. Imagine how it would translate onto the FR-S. The brake bias problem shouldn't be that bad considering the compact size of those calipers, and a minor bias can be easily corrected by running softer pads or installing aftermarket brake-bias controllers.

Yea but every penny counts... the less mass to toss around the quicker you can corner... plus that is before the rest of the interior is... um... "modified" by me.... plus that what like 60 kg less that the primo model right? thats well over 100lbs

Ridin' the roller coaster! A couple concerns, still. First, that's a really high RPM for the torque peak; how will this affect everyday driving? Second, in the US we'll be dealing with Scion, I have to think that odds are pretty slim we'd get the "Customize Spec" and/or some of the higher spec options like the Alcantara seats.

The weight definitely came out.. well, let's say decent. It's no NC or ND in that regard, but it's certainly better than the ~2800+ we were starting to see pop up.

So I'll ride the bandwagon a bit longer. Only thing now is: DO. NOT. FUCK. UP. THE. PRICING.

that's because none of that info is on the spec sheet. all it says concerning brakes is ベンチレーテッドディスク (ventilated disc) while the low spec model only says ディスク (disc) for the rear lol
