if so many people are adding ceramic coating to Avo's kit is because they are all afraid of introducing too much heat with the turbo. the ceramic coating IS the way to go but it makes the kit $1,150 more expensive that this twin screw which already doesn't introduce as much heat to the engine bay.
for $4,400 I can have this SC completely installed and running with the ECU map. |

It's my nature to like quality looking things. I've always been torn between this SC and AVO's turbo. this SC should retain throttle response a lot better than any turbo and I've always been in love with the whine. what makes me anxious is that I know AVO is a reputable company with a GREAT authority on making turbos for boxers while these guys can't release data or keep a thread alive with the lack of engagement with the community. I won't decide anything til I see real AMERICAN dyno numbers with american gas. |

Just a heads up, unless you have some background taking this car apart, this isn't an install that is that easy, removing the intake manifold on this car is actually pretty involved and requires you to remove quite a bit of stuff to do so. For those who want this kit thinking it's gonna be easy to install you may want to take a good look at how comfortable you are pulling apart the fuel lines and rails, if you have the tools, and how comfortable you are with vacuum lines.
Yes this kit is fairly simple as far as total installed components, but it's still a lot more work than popping in a set of coilovers or successfully installing headers. I'm mechanically adept and am not looking forward to this weekend's project of removing the intake manifold from my car to do some reinstallation of vacuum lines for my turbo kit to fix some routing that i did to get it running last minute before Visconti came over to my place. Just wanted to make sure people are actually understanding that this isn't a job that the average joe who happens to own a wrench can do without help. Not saying it isn't possible, but that it's not easy like everyone is saying. Hell my turbo install was technically a cake walk, until i started routing vacuum lines and wiring gauges. The actual hardest part of my install was dealing with the fuel pump and drivers side injectors. Excited to see this kit's numbers, I've always liked PD superchargers! |
