Only one way to find out... Try it! If it breaks... Build shep trans, diff, and axles... That will take care of it.

A John Cooper Works Mini is nothing to sneeze at.

It's unpainted bumpers and black steelies for tuners who are going to put a body kit and "RIMS" on it anyway, or drifters who are just going to tear them off on a wall.

There is no transfer case on this car. It's 2WD.

For most cars, maybe. Coming from what I have now... I want to keep my tire shredding torque... In RWD maybe I'll even get traction at less than 70mph again! I'll make this little bastard a rocket ship one way or another, like I do to everything else.

Lower left corner of the accessories chart - is that optional black bumpers and wheels for a Tofu-ten AE86 look?!?
Nopre, I guess you missed the vid of Tada-san and Tsuchiya-san's talk show. That's Custom Option and don't come w front or rear bumper & comes w 16" steely wheels.

I do like the weight though! Hope chassis rigidity is good.

Considering the whole car, its a nice package. A light, 200hp, RWD coupe with a 6 speed manual and LSD, and hopefully Toyota reliability at 25k? Count me IN.
I don't think they were aiming for S2000 HP/l.... the S2k was a $30k car when it began. Considering this cars space in the market, what it achieves is acceptable, and while I am just a tad disappointed in it's output (was hoping for 210ish) I'm sure all other aspects of the engine (powerband, reliability, economy and emissions, feel) will be superb. Pretty sure they could have gotten about 230ps had they desired (as per the chief engineer), and It's ok if they left that on the table for tuners to unlock.

Let the fun begin.

Please Toyota, do not fuck up the pricing.

i love it,

the chassy is good enough to be competitive with a $80,000 sports car.
the performance specs are high enough to satisfy most people
the performance specs are low enough to force tuners hands into toolers
the car caters to ricers
the car caters to racers
the car has very good reliability and economy

if this car comes in at 20-25k

this will be the smartest sports car produced by any company in 30 years.

thank you to everyone who posted information!

Please don't screw up the pricing, Subaru/Scion. If they really price it over 24k (for a base model) I'm gonna have to just go with a used 4th gen Legacy GT or X5. Yes, very different cars. I much prefer a lightweight RWD coupe but if they don't do it for a reasonable price, I don't see the point.
