Unless they have some turbo wizard sprinkling magic pixie dust on each kit, it doesn't quite add up. Of course I could be wrong but until someone straps this to their car and posts dyno numbers it's all speculation.
I'll post my dyno within a week. I'll be running the 8.5 psi setup but on 93 octane. I'm curious to see why/if the FBM would outperform other turbo kits with relatively the same layout. Not making this a pissing contest. As you said, this forum is for discussion and providing non-biased real world information. I couldn't car less if my car made more/less power than yours, as long as we both are happy and enjoy our cars. :happy0180:

I too will be lining my car up at the drags this spring and have been setting it up for that occasion- ACT 6 puck clutch with lightweight flywheel, Whiteline rear subframe bushings and transmission support, and 245 hankooks. I also have a 2.5" headerback exhaust and plan to try out Full Blown's 11.5psi e85 tune.

I think the numbers and curves are very nice, i would be happy at this power level but you have the ability to go much higher with more boost/E85. Precision makes quality turbos and i have a buddy thats a dealer, i don't have big hp goals do you know of any of their smaller models i might should look at or is this the ideal one for our cars?

I'm looking forward to your numbers and build!!! It would be very interesting if the FBM kit does make more power than the rest because we would all have to figure out why it does!

This turbo is pretty well suited to this car and this boost level, if top power isnt high on your agenda the other turbo offerings in the multitude of kits are also well suited. I guess it all comes down to price and if its worth it to you to spend. I would also suggest that if you do like the PT5558 like what I have opt for a recirculated wastegate dump if you don't plan on boosting to the higher limits of the car. I say this because the open dump is loud and it's open from like 3500 rpm to redline at 7psi...so it may annoy you!

got a corner weight yet? I'd really like to see the front weight %... Did you weight the parts as they came off and went on?

i love the p&l kit. great numbers and with 93 you can certainly achieve more + the option of a different turbo.

A little disappointed in the bashing of the Full Blown kit in this thread. As soon as they get me mine, I will also be putting it on the dyno ASAP to see what is reality.

1.5 psi increase could net you upwards of 25rwhp. You are also using a completely different dyno which can easily explain a reading of 10hp in either direction. that FBM 300rwhp was also done with a full 3' exhaust and I believe 93 octane.

All he said was that he wasn't sure why their kit made more with a smaller blower. He didn't say the kit was bad.

He implied that they either manipulated the results/lied or magical pixey dust exists. Perhaps bashing was a little too harsh a word.

Proof is in the pudding. We all want to see all the FI kits available tested on private individuals cars that having nothing to gain or lose by real world numbers.

I dont think he bashed them. He just wants proof from a third party. Like we all do.

Now all we need is a video and more pictures of this build...

No bashing intended, it's just that all things being equal we have seen a bunch of kits running FI now and there is a pretty common trend as far as power output is concerned. I am interested in their numbers from an independent source, I didn't take P&L's numbers at face value either or Accelerated Performances. I was simply implying that without more info the numbers seem high. With similar cars, on a dynojet dyno you can actually pull up correction factor. On my pulls I had a 1% correction factor which basically means at 255whp I have a 2.55hp increase from a dyno run at perfect conditions. So technically as long as the cars are run on Dynojet dynos, if you have the correction factor you can get a very close comparison of output.

There's a lot of other factors that apply as well like tire diameter, drivetrain mods, fuel additives, etc. that affect these numbers but in the end a full list of modifications can help to filter out the added gains between cars. Take for instance my car, I have a lightweight crank pulley, lighter flywheel, and Nitto Invos on 18inch wheels. The pulley and flywheel are net hp increasing modifications. The larger diameter wheel/tire is a net hp decreasing mod. Of course more math is involved but you get the picture

When we have people on FBM kits posting their gains we will have a better idea of actual expected gains versus the advertised numbers. As far as I know @Kochinopride and myself are the only people who have run this P&L kit hos was on an auto mine on a manual. I am anxiously waiting to see what numbers he gets with his kit on his new manual FRS, so I have someone to actually compare my numbers to and to work out any possible kinks in tuning when we decide to increase the boost.

So, in conclusion, I don't mean to sound like I am bashing Full Blown Motors, I am just interested in independent testing is all. I have learned to take manufacturer numbers with a grain of salt due to past occurrences.

What kind of dyno are you running it on just for baseline measurements? I'm hoping for a Dynojet so we could just share the actual dyno files...I have yet to figure out how to share files on this site but once i do I will post up my pulls so anyone with the DynoJet software can look them up and view all the data not just copy/pasted plots on a forum.
