I know the heads are stout on this platform, but has anyone tested the affect on the lower half? What about piston speed at 8k plus rpms? Is that not a concern to anyone else? I know people trying to over rev the F22's past 8k and some have ended with a rod through the block...

With a stg1 stock pump gas tune, what is a good rpm to set the stock shift light?

Just because you can do it or make power on the dyno doesn't mean it "looks good for the stock valvetrain". There is no way to tell the longer term effects of reving the motor to 8000+ RPM, but sometimes you have to take a chance. By the way this is the plot John is referencing:

Can you tell us more about this? What were they reving to and for how many miles? What did they check for?

I have been trying to keep up but military and surgeries have kept me out of the loop. What HP/TQ are we looking at with "name brand" intake and full exhaust minus headers (ballpark)
And to keep getting latest tune do we need to put a ticket in at the of say, every month?

Since no 2 engines will ever be treated the same or have the exact same mods made from the exact same metal and be used in the exact same way in the exact same conditions. Hes already said that its been looked into and is fine, thats all that needs to be said. |

I ordered perrins inlet and intake so ill have to put a ticket in and my custom intake is for sale with all silicon angles (I always spell this wrong but it isn't the flying chicks from the sky) and custom heat resistance coated aluminum piping, as well as the filter, heat shield and fab'd brackets It is proven by a heat sensor to lower temps and produce a good amount of power.
So why change it? I run a shop in NC and I will be switching many parts in the next year. Pm me for details and photos. Now time for the ticket
