In my personal opinion, the exhaust still has a nice sound with the silencers in which is probably how it was designed. The drone for mine won't kick in till about 4k but with the silencers it's almost unnoticeable. There's also plenty of airflow compared to stock even with the silencers in and quite honestly unless you're planning on forced induction, there shouldn't be any degrading of performance with the silencers in.
With silencers on, it sound much better than stock? Some said it too quite like stock ....
Got to find one for a demo soon.

With silencers or without, it is better than stock. Without, its damned musical.

I installed my Greddy Evo 3 on Monday and then put about 150 miles on it half w/ silencers and half without. I have to say I was pretty nervous about the possibility of droning as I was making my final decision on exhaust systems. As mentioned previously it does have a drone but this catback really does sound pretty amazing regardless. I went out on a limb with this setup mostly because I have always liked the way Greddy Evo systems have sounded on other cars and even on cars that typically sound terrible regardless of what is on them. It actually sounds like a boxer now and the tone is very clean. It really sounds good either way with or without silencers but like others have said it is hard to justify keeping the silencers in because it just sounds so damn good without them. Having the option to toss the silencers in for long road trips is a plus in my mind because it cuts the db level WAY down.

Personally I painted the silencers flat black so they pretty much disappear in the mufflers when installed if you are concerned about seeing them. With the windows down the drone dissipates quite a bit when the silencers are not in. I am lucky as I live in AZ so having the windows down is nearly a year round experience. For those who have not yet let someone drive the car around while you listen to it from a sideline I highly recommend it. Sounds so good. Anyway just thought I would put my 2 cents in but as it sits thus far I have not concluded whether the drone will get on my nerves, only time will tell. Thus far I foresee this as a keeper

Like the last two posts say, the exhaust still sounds better with the silencers in, but definitely sound better with it out. I just need to keep mine in because I park in underground parking lots for where I live and school and I've seen people with decently loud exhausts setting off car alarms in both of them. I guess I'm too polite lol.

Could someone with this exhaust possibly make a decent drive-by video? Preferably someone with a catless front-pipe... but either way would be helpful. I have the AFE takeda exhaust now and I'm looking into getting the Evo 3 soon.

if no one has done it in the spring i'll be doing a catless resonated midpipe/overpipe and an UEL header...should have the midpipe in a month or so...its jsut too damn cold to work on the car now.

i'm in central jersey, if anyone wants to hear it more than welcomed to PM me. a for noise, it sounds great but the drone is there. i put the silencers in, started the car and took them out immediately, it sounds stock. hopefully the resonators will help with the drone, i'll report back eventually

I just ordered mine.. couldn't hold back my curiosity/excitement. I have the AFE Takeda now. I like it, but I want something with more deepness to it. Every one that has the Evo 3 seems to be satisfied so I dont see where I could go wrong. :3
