I would suggest Cars, I met my GF/wife to be on scionlife then started to have local meets with a bunch of folks and then I got to know her more!

Maybe a single isolated event but I owe Scion/cars everything

Life is too short to sit home alone. I myself have 0 friends who like the same music I do so I go to concerts alone and make new friends
You'll figure something out-are you into graphic novels? American vampire, watchmen and walking dead are amazing reads.
And you mentioned video games-I actually know a lot of people who made friend irl from people they met in the world of MMO games

Prepare for me to start making you think i'm crazy-- but first, thank you for the compliment on my photo, i really appreciate it.

I'm not a fan of friends with benefits, it just feels wrong to use someone like that. . .i've still done it, don't get me wrong, but i don't often turn to it as a viable option.

IRL i don't have many friends. I tend to go to restaurants and movies by myself, and i dress nicely when i leave the house, but i've not engaged in conversation with strangers. (mild social anxiety.)

And on the last point about reading-- this is going to sound very strange coming from someone who is writing a Trilogy but, i absolutely abhor reading. Can't stand it. However, i have watched Watchmen and Walking Dead in video form.

And not for nothing most women are bat shit crazy-don't rule them all out because of some shitty relationships. I've meet some controlling guys-it really just comes down to their personality. The average women likes to feel close to their guy-it can easily cross the line and become messy tho lol.

I have a mild form of social anxiety, like being in crowds makes me scared so in the past I'd hold someone's arm and look down - but after so many times going into the city by myself I finally got over it for the most part.
It also helped that I use to get prescribed stuff from the doc-not anymore tho.
I'm firm believer that if you keep trying to socialize and put yourself out there it will slowly become more and more tolerable. I mean I still offend people when I first meet them-they take my shyness as a insult, like I don't like them.
You can tell the new people you meet 'sorry I'm a little shy' it helps, (as well as a small drink)
But now I'm just rambling, basically what I'm trying to say is
Social anxiety is something that can be worked threw, and by projecting convinced you draw people to you as well as helps you open up.
It may seem awkward and it is, but it's the best advice I can give. I'm guilty of it and hey after awhile you start to really believe it. It's only when I'm taken off guard that I come off as cold.

One good thing about being a bit of a loner is all the independant research i get to do. Since i have so much spare time alone, i just research Psychology, Physics, Astrophysics, Cars, and Medical Science. I do the most with Psychology-- which is kind of when people on the forum start bickering, i like to throw out concepts like ad hominem, subjectivity and confirmation bias-- all things that when understood, help alleviate criticism.

Anyways, i guess i just have to work on being more social. Thank you for your advice.

Bro. I think its time for an intervention. With lots of people, alcohol and shitton of games.

It also helps a lot when you stop expecting and not give a rats ass on what many people think. Take it one day at a time.

Do what makes you happy. Take some fun risks, try new things, run, say hello to people and see if a good conversation comes up.
