There is a "Japanese Market" BRZ, and then there are versions made for sale in other markets. I'm working on exports to Brazil right now; if I called the products we make - in the US - for export to Brazil "US Export Market" goods, nobody would know what I was talking about. They're Brazilian Market items, modified or designed for the specific needs of Brazil.

You are of course free to use whatever terminology you wish, but if you ever go to business school you'll find yourself in a group of one.

First you say the JDM/USDM terminology is questionable. So I go research the meaning for you, verbatim, and prove it's valid. Now you say it's better to use the more vague version of the terminology? You're going against your original complaint like a hypocrite! Yes, "Japanese Market BRZ" can be understood. But not ony is it incorrect (as I've proven), it's less universally understood compared to our standard vernacular...

Yes, when you say "USDM", I know what you mean. Even though nobody at Fuji would ever use that term to describe a BRZ, I know what you mean by it. The fact that there's an entry for it in wikipedia doesn't mean anything beyond the fact that, well, someone sat down and entered it. People use the term "revert back" too, and I know what it means also.

The term the auto industry uses is no better than auto enthusiast vernacular. Just because the industry uses whatever jargon which may be universally understood, even if we found the term we'd still have to question if even that is correct. All in the same spirit as your "word nazi" approach. I dug deeper and extracted the literal meaning. What I found is fundamental to (and better than) what you asked for.
