Just thought I would update you folks, where the owners manual says the top speed with winter tires is only 50 kph, here is the response from Scion Canada:

We have researched your inquiry and we wish to confirm that there will be a correction to future Owner's Manuals to indicate that the max recommended speed is 120km/h when using snow tires, not 50km/h. We apologize for the error.

Yeah, but that wont help me...I can still only go 30 mph till I get the summer tires on. Oh wait, I can put the summer tires on during the winter and drive faster. Yeah...that should work.

it's a liability issue! they are afraid of getting sued if you actually do that in your garage,so they mention it in the manual.

I thought I saw somewhere that you're not supposed to use snow chains. Like anyone would use chains anyway?

Eek.. I've been dangerously close to that winter tire speed limit! (the higher one lol) .. Guess I better watch out for the giant goblin in the sky to swoop down and nab me for doing 80mph with snows on.... lmfao!

Looks like I need to do more than skim the manual. Sounds like a entertaining read lol

You can use them if they're low-profile enough. I have and there have been no issues.
