Porsche Cayman has exact same setup.

I was disappointed to see a big center console in the previous brochure. I test drove a Mustang, which has a similar console, and was very uncomfortable as it forced my elbow into an awkward position.

However, in this test drive photo the e-brake handle looks angled instead of flat and you can see the side of the guys leg and nothing hitting his elbow. I hope that's the way it is.

That would really suck if they did. Even though it's still the pre-production pic, the square patch might be a clue that it could change but I really hope not.

Cost. It's probably cheaper to mass produce those buttons than to produce key inserts that require forging and multiple pieces to put together.

I actually like the start-stop button, but don't like the location where they placed it on the FT...if they moved it closer to the shifter, Toyota could have offered a storage bin where it currently resides. The concept I had it placed middle and center. Also wish it was red like the S2000's.

Doesn't look like Double-DIN to me. It's too short. However, it's too short for Single-DIN, so maybe it's 1.5DIN? If it is, it's kinda good for extra things (eg. boost controller IF you install a turbo, or fold-out cupholders, a draw, etc.)

Looks like the cruise control is done like 90's Toyota's - stalk on the bottom right, behind the steering wheel. You can JUST see a tiny bit of it poking out, keep in mind the wheel is turned when you're looking for it

That headunit probably is probably part of some sort of premium audio package, becuase they DID say they weren't going to have a CD player in the base model...

I love the 86 on the wheel as well! Other than that the interior looks amazing for 20-25K USD! Loving the digital speedo and gear display.

where are the audio controls on steering wheel? I really like my audio controls on the wheel. are the left side interiors different than the right side interiors? I drive on the right side of the road so don't need the right side. is there a price yet?

seats look uncomfortable. those edges really dig into your thighs on long trips, and I would love leather, this stuff is annoying to keep clean. and wish they would ditch the pioneer radios already, give us something better.

No audio mounted controls on the wheel. This is a true drivers car. Don't need that crap on there. And no leather either, why would you want to slide all over your seat while at the track?

What's wrong with Pioneer? I use Pioneer all the time, in all of my cars when I buy a new headunit. Never had a single problem, and I get good audio quality with them.

If you'd stop complaining for a second and look at what you'd actually be getting for 20-25K then you should be pretty impressed. Replace the seats if you aren't happy with them, add a steerig wheel with audio controls if you aren't happy not having them... replace the headunit if you aren't happy with it. If there are too many things you need to replace because you aren't happy with them, then don't buy the car! Simple as that.

just wait until Scion gets their hands on it... BUTTONS, BUTTONS, BUTTONS...
That's just speculation, but they have it on all of their cars. I wouldn't mind either way. But since there was a rumor earlier about being able to buy the car without an audio system, it would make sense not to have them. Who knows...

Well said. If performance isnt up to standards then don't buy it.
