Must consider. Unless shipping is stupid. Which it probably is.

Technically the rubber flap is marketed to be an aerodynamic enhancement (air flow management). I only got it to protect the lip... I knew I'd scrape regardless lol

Your car look so nice.
Do you have any plan for the light( front, rear, fog…etc)?
I remember that you put the overlay on your fog light in one post.
Did you remove that? What’s reason for that? Any new plan?
I still very hesitate to put the overlay on my car or not including front, rear, side and fog. How do you think?
Thanks a lot.

The pics are amazing, they look better than any magazine or manufacturer sends out.

This is without a doubt one of the classiest modded FR-S/BRZ on this forum. If I were to do one, it would be very close to what you have done. Congratulations on a beautifully thought out car and a gorgeous friend.

I just got a PM asking about my suspension setup. I've gotten these questions before so I'll post my answer here for others to see.
Quote:
...what kind of suspension are you running on your car? ...was wondering how you like them ...are you on stock suspension still?
My only suspension mod listed is STI springs so I'm on stock struts (which the springs were designed for). I think they are very nice, a little firmer than stock but not jarring. The car stays planted over sweeping undulations in the road. It also helps that I am on wider/taller 225/45/17 rubber all around. It feels lower than stock when I sit inside. But not so low that I scrape everywhere. I do scrape occasionally but that's because my STI front lip+rubber flap take away 2" of clearance and the rubber flap absorbs all the impact.

Sorry, I just noticed your post. Thanks for the question. I had yellow overlays on my fog lights but after researching it a bit I found any overlay will increase the potential for cracks to form in the lens. So I took them off. When temperature changes, the lens expands/contracts at a different rate than the overlay because they are different materials. Since they are mated together, one has to give way. The overlay usually has some flexibility and gives way. But when it's not flexible enough, the lens will form cracks.

I don't plan to put overlays on any lights unless there is a brand proven to not cause cracks. Cracks don't happen 100% to everyone, but the risk is there and it's up to you if you want to live with that risk. I'd say the side markers are the lowest risk and bigger pieces higher risk.

HI,

Thanks a lot for your information.

Will the spray paint also cause the same risk?

Thanks again.

Several people in my area have sprayed their FR-S/BRZ tail lights and sidemarkers with no problem. They used a brand named VHT. They are also able to completely remove the spray whenever they want (using Goof Off I think). I don't think spray tint causes cracks but you should research to double check.

switchlanez,

your BRZ is one of my favorites. I think we have similar tuning philosophies.
