My friend has an early 2000 model SE focus, it can take the corners pretty well. Surprised me.

I was thinking Honda Accord, i mean look it since day one...meh?

Without a doubt a Camry... excellently put together and reliable transportation but not a drivers car in the least. Actually driving the 5 speed Manual is pretty awful...I much rather drive my Tacoma over a Camry.

Why are those mediocre when they do exactly what they were meant to do? And are reliable and have no sporty pretentions?

i think it depends on what you mean by mediocore. the camry sets out to be mediocore and does it well. if the camry was a shirt size it would be XM.

so a mediocre car has;
- No luxurious features, but isn't shit for quality
- No performance bragging rights, but isn't slow
- No economical benefits, but doesn't guzzle gas
- Aesthetically dull design (interior & exterior) but isn't ugly
- the lifespan/durability/reliability has a set date of 150k-200k miles before consider replacing the entire car.

that sound about right?

That fits the Corolla/Camry perfectly. Those are good cars, but they don't excel at anything.
Corolla/Camry are cars you can be content with but not necessarily want and not necessarily don't want.

Mid 90s buick regal. Doesn't it seem like they only made them in silver, beige and white?

Anything to ever come from Dodge/Chrysler after 1972, save for the Viper.
