Thank you guys very much for the support! We are very excited about this build. I've got a few more pictures that I can post up here as well.

To answer your question, the Stage 3 that we are referring to is to classify the engine build. We don't usually classify stage's for power mods because there are so many different uses for the stages.

We build over 250+ Subaru engines a year and developed our own Stages to help us better identify the power levels that each engine can handle.

Here is how we personally break down our stage engines at AWDTuning (this may not be the same as other shops)
Stage 0 = OEM
Stage 1 = OEM w/ Forged pistons
Stage 2 = Forged pistons and forged hbeam rods
Stage 3 = (This has stage has multiple combinations that will qualify)
Forged pistons with forged hbeam rods and darton sleeves or
Forged pistons with forged ibeam rods
Forged pistons with forged xbeam rods
Stage 4 = Forged pistons, forged xbeam rods and darton sleeves
Stage 5 = Forged pistons, forged xbeam rods, darton sleeves and a billet crank

And this is how we classify our shortblocks. Heads have their own, but we don't usually classify those because we list our what exactly is done.

This Stage3 FA20 build has Arias forged pistons and Pauter xbeam connecting rods. Arias forged pistons are 9.1:1 we polished the OEM brank because it was in great shape, we used OEM bearings for this build but like Rick said, we are working with ACL to develop bearings for this platform, Stock headgaskets were used, we rebuilt the heads to factory specs, but they are stock heads.
As for the power mods, we are using an Accelarated Performance GT28 Turbo kit with FMIC and full exhaust system, Tial 38mm wastegate, DW 1000cc injectors, DW 65 fuel pump, stock headers.
We are also using a Clutch Masters FX400 clutch, Cusco sway bars, StopTech big brake kit, and a custom mocal oil cooler.

We will be tuning the car on E85 using an EcuTek license.

Hopefully this will answer some of your questions. Let me know if you have any more!

Looks like a great build, I'm excited to see the end product. When doing these types of build do other bolt on mods like intake and exhaust have more or less of an impact?

I'm more so interested to see how this car reacts with the lower compression, given that we have already seen its power curve with 12.5:1

Talking to AWDTUNING who has done research on FRS/BRZ and know alot of people in the industry, the rear diff seems to be the weak link in the FRS/BRZ drive line and not the tranny. A couple other companies ahead of our build have blown a couple diffs.
We also have axles that just came to the market too. What kind of power can the tranny hold?

Nice to see a local shop diving into a project like this. I met Keith at the Chili's meet a while back and he said nobody had expressed any interest in building or even tuning their BRZ yet.

Looks like by the time my warranty is up, AWD tuning will have some under their belt :happy0180:

Got the FRS started up today... engine sounds Amazing! We are still waiting on a few parts and working on a final solution for the intake, but it runs great!
The Perrin Performance oil cooler is very nice! It fits very well, cleared our turbo kit with no issues, required no modification and even came with all the hardware and thermal wrap needed for a nice clean installation. Great job, as always, from the guys over at Perrin!

The StopTech brakes are a great fit as well. Very impressed with the quality of the whole kit as well. Can't wait to see them in action!

We installed the kw variant 3 coilovers as well. Right now they are lowered but the are adjustable so we can raise them if we need.

We should have the last of the parts in early next week. Then we will break in the brakes before getting it on the road. We will be putting about 300-500 break-in miles on the engine before getting it on the dyno. Hopefully it should be on the dyno by next weekend. I'll keep you posted! Until then, enjoy the pictures!

Sweet build! Looks like you have a hard time saying "no" to upgrades!

Looking forward to seeing how the build ends up.
