VR6 engines...

Why do these engines tend to accompany FWD cars? Can't really understand that part.

Maybe because all VW's since well before the time they introduced the VR6 have been fwd?

ZDan pretty much said it. Also, there's not a huge reason to go VR6 in a transverse engine layout. You have a decent amount of width and length to go either a true V or a straight 6. The VR6 is designed to put a V6 where an I-4 was supposed to go, hence the clever packaging.

Why don't we see more VR6 engines transfers for RWD? They seem to have good weight and power output is pretty good for the size of the engine.

Like the poster above said, its post to fit where an I4 was...why don't we abuse that power then?

Vr6's are awesome and sound great... VW uses them on the .:R32s which are AWD...
