i pay attention to the road for the most part, but having a tach that stands out is also easier to manage when racing.

I really can't stand the rear tail light treatment. It was my understanding Toyoda, loved the original FT concept's tail lights so I assumed they would look much better than what's in these pictures here...

That said, I like the overall look of the car but still hoping the US version looks more like the Scion concept

I think it looks very solid, you can for sure see theres all sorts of after-production items on there.

Can anyone tell what the 3 buttons on the cup-holder side of the shifter are?

Also, very curious as to why Ichi hasn't chimed in in awhile.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but I skipped over a bunch of pages. someone was asking about the ring on the shift lever below the shift knob on the manual version. If it's anything like the 6 speed on the Tiburon, it's probably a reverse lockout mechanism (you have to pull up on that ring to get into reverse.) Which means that reverse is probably next to 6th gear instead of 1st.
Some Euro cars have the lockout and still have reverse next to first. VW corrado comes to mind, except that it's push down the shifter rather than pull up a ring.

I'm guessing that it perhaps changes colour in sport mode. That being said, looks are subjective, some people will like it, some wont.

I don't think I ever look at the tach on track, I shift by feel/sound. If I do, it's not something I do conciously... I'm usually checking the track ahead, paying attention to the car, and paying attention to other cars around me far more than I ever would the tach.

I'd be more ok with all white gauges, just the mixing and matching looks like someone literally pulled a gauge from another car and threw it in.

That would be fine because that would be one wire to snip and then you wouldn't have to worry about it.. but many background changing gauges (see Nissans) never worked well.

I'm guessing a lot of what's featured there are option, including the tach. Maybe it'll be part of a sports package, which would be fine as I'd just find a wrecked base one with a black tach or just buy a black tach and switch it out.

The look of the all black Gazoo cars cluster is worlds better (classier, better look and more finished looking) than the mix-n-match cluster IMO.

It's obvious that some do like the white tach, and the red interior bits I'll agree to disagree as you said it's all subjective appearance stuff.

In the zoomed in picture of the climate controls you can see the radio area above it has something other than the blank in the other space, too bad you can't see what it is

Back end as shown strongly reminds me of the RX-8. Not a bad thing IMO.
