I'm a Fire Fighter/EMT and soon-to-be Lieutenant with the Sarasota County Fire Department, 6 years in.

No degree here. In IT you can get by on experience once you get to that point.

I have my AS degree and it's nothing but a bullet point on my resume. Experience and certain industry certs will get you much farther. Also, being a jack-of-all-trades helps a lot too, since you get hired for one thing and end up doing them all, but it looks like they've already got you doing that.
