well, i got some ish done finally.

first off, i ordered a 4" antenna from perrin. my stock one got bent in half after i put a heavy duty cover on the car for hurricane sandy. doh.

next, it was time for project blackout!

i krylon fusioned (satin black) all the emblems, headlights and turn signal housings. it's coming out great, i'm loving it. note to anybody, the front emblem is attached behind the front bumper with those push to lock clips. you have to break them free before pulling the emblem off. all of mine pulled off in such a way that the sticky tape stayed on the car and the emblem was free of it. so i can reuse it, since it's still sticky as hell.

on another note, the back of scion's emblem says subaru! LOL, i really would have thought toyota would supply subaru with the badge.

also, these were off my sti and sitting in my toolbox, so i said why not?

extended neo chrome lugs from muteki. the sti has the same ones in red. great lugs.

it's only the beginning my friend. it's a track car + street car. track season is over right now, you really won't see much from us until the spring/summer.

thanks man.
<---first track time. i chose the fr-s for its..simplicity and great beginner car. i have a 600hp sti that i choose not to take on the track. she's my garage queen, while the fr-s gets down and dirty. i'm no expert at anything, so it's all new to me and i can't wait to get started.

What did you use as a clear on the tails? I'm doing mine today and I have some acrylic lacquer and I'm not sure if that's what I need

you want to use a urethane based clearcoat, as this will give you the most protection and the most gloss.

not that i know of. :/ you can certainly look for a different brand name. just needs to be urethane based.

HI,

Your car looks so cool.
How did you do on your smoke head light (paint or overlay)?
How much be reduced for the output of the headlight?
Thanks.
