A hatch would help with the practicality. Plus I think they're cool. Giving the Subaru a trunk and the Toyota a hatch would have been another way to differentiate. How hard can it be?! |

I really like this idea. Subaru is obviousl'y going to hit the crowd that has more funds, maybe this won't be their DD, so trunk space isn't a big issue. But for the Scion crowd, who really has brand loyalty to Toyota and its subsidiaries and who is buying this car as a DD, having a hatch would really be helpful. I was hoping for one as my girlfriend has a 95 celica and the hatch really comes in handy. O well, all depends what I see in Tokyo and how it feels on the test drive...

haha, no she isn't, that car has been a complete nightmare. Since she got it, she needed new axles, then a new manual tranny, and then another axle people the mechanic who did it the first time screwed up. We think he botched the first job which resulted in his "bad tranny" diagnosis which we now believe wasn't bad at all. Bought the car for like $1700 and I think she's put somewhere like 3k into it. I think it's all due to poor maintanence that I didn't notice when she bought it.

I suggest joining - we have a bunch of really good members in the Northeast and a ton of information on taking car of these cars without blowing tons of money unless that's what you want to do. Everyone else, sorry for being so off-topic. Cheers! |
