You gotta figure that very few of them are actually base cars with no accessories. Subaru puts a few accessories on almost every car. The two at the dealer nearest me each has about $500 worth of accessories added, driving the MSRP up.

This is right...most of the BRZs I looked at had the mirror and applique (paint saver-trunk)...and we're marking them $2k for the luxury. Be forewarned though, when websites put that "Dealer Savings" on the website, it's done automatically when they list the car to the website, it doesn't always represent the "real" starting price.

There are at least 20 in CT between BRZ and FR-S. I'm sure the dealers are very negotiable these days and those "add-ons" will be yours if you're willing to negotiate down the MSRP of a base model.

they are really going to start to sit for awhile! see if ya can get 'em for under "true" invoice! that way you will work into the dealer's holdback, and ad money!
they can't let 'em sit,it affects their allocation!

When Spring comes and people start thinking about cruising with hotties in a hot car they'll be on backordered again. It doesn't help that owners keeping them seasonally have them garaged away...no one seeing them drive by wanting one for themselves.

Subaru had a record December and a record year for 2012; I don't think the economy is going to stop us from having another record year! Subie sold 497 BRZ's in December

that's kewl, but i doubt it will be enough! it is what it is! cars these days have to meet certain criteria,or people will pass them by because,in MOST cases, they gotta "float a note" to buy it,and they are lookin' for cars, again in MOST cases, that offer more in terms of practicality.i love the little guy,BUT like others,i gotta look at the total picture "subies" ARE very popular,BUT i am referring specifically to the brz's,which i feel will suffer because of what type of vehicle they are,AND the fact dealerships cannot receive enough of them to make a difference in the bottom line,ESPECIALLY if they have to discount them! i would NEVER purchase a brz ,unless i can get it for true invoice,or below! WHY? because i know that money IS out there! ya can't "sit" on 'em,because it effects allocation, and people are not stupid, they know this! IF you don't sell at the right money, the next guy will! trust me there is no shortage,it's just a car! smart money says wait until some get "dumped" and buy one of them for short money, with small miles. not everyone HAS to buy from quirk in braintree! ehe! he! he! just sayin'

You're right; if they don't sell soon than the dealers will discount them to move the cars. It does affect the allocation if they have old cars in stock. They want to have a great inventory for spring/summer so any languishing inventory has to go. It's tough to say when the best time to look for a deal would be though; depends on how long each car has been in stock.

They are charging a $495 dealer fee and almost $750 over msrp market adjustment. Better deals up north.

Update: I heard that they got these BRZ's from up north and it cost them $750 to ship each one. But they still charging your for it when you could just deal with a dealer up north and save the $1500 or more.

smart money says anytime now should be considered, especially if ya gotta keep brushin' the snow off 'em,and ya got 'em lined up like dominoes. shoot for the end of the month when they gotta make the "tally" and see what ya can do! know what "true invoice" is on 'em and work from there! it's usually around 1 large less than the "maroney" ,then you can get into the dealer's "holdback, and ad money! if they are really serious about movin' units, they will play ball! stay away from financing,as the dealer gets "kickback" from the bank to throw business their way! come in with "foldin' cash" and go to work!

Yeah, but here in New England you can easily get one for MSRP.

I think every dealer in Florida charges a dealer fee and the extra 750.00 is the transportation charge for getting the car here. We've been Dealer trading for the cars from up north.

As of today we have 9 in stock and 3 more inroute
