I don't think it really has anything to do with the vehicle type, I've had TC's give me thumbs up and also had one who kept revving the engine same with civic's 1 civic while I've driven by others and most of the time don't even pay attention that i'm even there just another car going somewhere. I think its mostly just kids barely getting there licenses trying to race anyone with a sporty enough car until they finally get takers.

I just had a guy trade his '11 tC for a '13 WRX, he thought the BRZ/FR-S was really cool but impractical for his needs. He was a cool guy! Former Army Ranger, now a male nurse... making twice what I do in half the hours *grumble*

I don't think it's considered "Scion hate thread by people who own a Scion". It's just FRs owners hating tCs cause admit it, those toasters look hideous.

Don't be bitter, come join the fun... unless you drive a tC...

As a (newer) TC owner, I think this opinion of jaded owners towards the twins, can be found throughout any brand. You'll always have douche bags or immature people driving like idiots if they feel threatened or jealous around other cars. People need to just step back and see what both cars are. They are not the same and are made and marketed differently.

With that said though, I am "patiently" waiting until I am in the right position to get this car. I enjoy the TC, but see it more as a "stepping stone" into an FR-S or BRZ (in terms of a smaller sporty car into a full blown sports car). I see the TC as more on the practical/every day side rather than the fun/excuse to go driving side of the twins. However, the twins are practical in their own right too.

I always give thumbs up to ones (twins) I spot, and if I'm next to them, tell them I am looking forward to getting mine and for them to enjoy theirs.

tC is not boxy last time I checked. Perhaps you might want to take another look at it again. I stand by the original statement, another Scion hate thread, by people who own a Scion.

i've run into a few of these tc jerks. I think a lot of them are pissed because they're stuck with a tc and not the frs. I've found that the tc rs owners are the most player hating, lol.

I was looking up some FRS pictures on Instagram and there was a TC owner bashing the FRS saying that there was nothing special to it, calling it a glorified Corolla, and that with the money he would save by buying the TC he would blow the FRS out of the water. These people are either hard headed or just don't get it.

This is how most of them treat me I have only ran into one that had a rather disgusted look at me but who knows maybe his rather large girl friend broke wind and that was the reason for all the making faces.

When I was originally wanting to check out the Twins, I went to a Subaru Dealer and a Scion/Toyota dealer. I asked the Scion dealer if they had one to test drive, the dealer gave me a surprised look and got defensive say, "No! we sell them all before we even get them... Good luck trying to test drive one before purchasing!" Then he went on to say, "Have you considered the TC, is almost the same car and I can get you into one today."

Needless to say I walked away shaking my head.

Several months later (when I had a BRZ on order). I saw a craigslist ad for a 2007 Subaru Forester XT with a manual transmission and 60k miles at another Scion dealership. I went to check it out, but they had already sold it a few days before (even though the CL ad was posted that same day...). However, they did have a couple of FRSs in stock, and they offered me a test drive. (Much better dealership, other than the shady practice of showing inventory when they had already sold the vehicle)

Fell in love with the driving experience and basically sealed the deal of me purchasing a BRZ. (I prefer the headlights, front bumper, and interior of the BRZ). Not to mention, they wanted more money with their "no negotiation pricing" then a premium BRZ.
