Dipping the wheels on the car is a bad idea. Your lugs are gonna be coated too so have fun taking your wheels off now.

Hey guys just curious how many of you detail your own car? And if you do , do you use a dual action polisher? Or hand? I'm looking to get the Meguiars DA polisher but just looking to see if any of you have experience with another brand or the same one and whats good and affordable thanks lol

I don't always wax my car myself, but when I do, I do it by hand.

Years ago I bought a turtle wax brand polisher but I've never used it. For smaller cars there's not much use for it.

I used to detail cars as a side job. You will never be able to perform a legitimate paint correction without a buffer. A solid amateur buffer is the Porter Cable, as you can not really go wrong. Once you get comfortable with the movements and fundamentals of polishing, you can always upgrade to a rotary.

As for polish, I personally never use anything off the shelf. There are plenty of solid, yet affordable, resources online such as Chemical Guys and Detailer's Domain. I have always found Adam's to be a solid brand, and as mentioned above, VERY affordable. You can get a starting kit, and it will practically include all you need. Other things to think about are: Clay Bar, wax, shampoo, interior cleaner, and vinyl/leather cleaners/conditioners.

It's a coating that's supposed to protect your paint better and longer than a wax, essentially. Do a search for more info

I hate Plasti Dipping emblems now !!! just not having very much good luck with them
first time i did them at my friends house a few days ago, it didnt look too bad. but i felt like i could do better.
so i took em off and redid them yesterday, i did it at the back of my balcony. i redid it.. but everytime i come back out and check on it.. the wind blew it and flipped it over.. i wasnt really mad at first.. so i just redid it.. and made sure i put the can over the newspaper i sprayed it on. then when i came back to check .. i missed a few spots. so i sprayed it some more... and Forgot to put the can back on the paper... and came back.. flipped..
so im like... Eff it. ill fix it tmr...
today, I felt like today was the DAY! >:O
yeah... didnt work out too well either.
I just didnt have much luck today .. T_T
Was gonna leave the front like that... but then the back was the one i redid today.. and that flipped.. and i ran out of plastidip... soooooo I ended up taking em off..

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, i FINALLY went to Golden Gate Bridge last night . Thanks @Khalis for showing me the spot ! woo ! Gonna do a Redo of a quick photoshoot at the Bridge before the San Bruno Meet on Friday !!
