I actually was going to get one too because the quality of the picture looks soo good but from the article they mention a noticeable drop in picture

here the link to the review of the Blackvue itself

I still think it will be fine. Some people reported over-heating, but I tend to feel that complaints are over-exaggerated online. People who dont have problems rarely leave feedback, making the actual problems seem worse than they are. I will find out soon, but so far, this view on things hasnt failed me. I'm in the worst place to try if the new one, which is supposed to have fixed the overheating issues. Florida be hot..x.x

Maybe I should grab one, heat is the least of my worries here right now, it's -19 degrees celcius right now with the wind chill and snowin" like a motha

I could use it to heat the car

Looks like the recommended Dash cam is the http://dashcamtalk.com/itronics-itb-100hd/ which is the same price as the group buy. Feature wise at least its the closest to the Blackvue. Well for anyone still on the fence you have 3 more days to consider since they extended the Group Buy. I'm gonna research this itronics version now before i pull the trigger. Thanks for the heads up Jay.

I believe this mass-drop group buy might actually be from Canada's RFD community. http://forums.redflagdeals.com/group...5-a-1251973/6/

Lots of drama with this product it seems. You'll want to read the latest two pages to get the full scoop.

From what I can tell, the manufacturer wants to maintain a minimum selling price for these units ($270 i believe). Group-buys and ebay sellers are undercutting these minimums. A certain large reseller in the North American market is making a big stink about these group-buys and ebay resellers undercutting him and selling below the minimum price, this certain large reseller tried to strong arm the group-buy organizer into selling for a higher price and taking a cut for himself. Group-buy organizer refused and posted the sneaky suggestion for all the forum to see. I hear the the manufacturer PITASOFT is being a PITA for returns for anyone buying through the group-buy. The funny thing is the group-buy organizer is and has been an authorized reseller this whole time.

Apparently, Itronics has caught wind of this and has approached the organizer with their product...

Good digging. Juicy information and a mess over there. One of the comments said that they wont be selling the items to Massdrop, so it will be interesting to see if they will be able to complete the GB or not. They (Massdrop) dont seem to be stopping it, so we will see. I all ready put in my order for mine, so we will see how it works out in a few days.

They don't recommend this dash cam

The one I have the DVR 027 is the cheapest ($60ish) and best rated. I recommend it actually with my only complaints about it is the mount doesnt stick on nearly as well as I would like and its huge. I modded mine to be much smaller but the mount still doesnt stay in place when its cold or super hot out
You can use some of the new ibm sticky products that you see on commercials. i don't remember what they are right now, but they are good for heat temperatures up to I believe 160 deg F.

Got mine in last week from the GB. A little drama from shipping, but the organizers worked prompt with email responses.
