Yeah definitely. That is a rare bird indeed!

Sounds like a good memory. Those childhood memories of seeing/hearing something and not being able to fully process it all.... those are what always stay with you. I have an early memory of being half-asleep in the backseat of a family road trip and, in the glow of a setting sun, a MKiV Supra Turbo passed us (not too fast, just a gentle overtaking) and I saw the silhuouette in the late day sun.... it was glorious. Sometimes big wings are cool.

I will admit to be somewhat disappointed but after all it's a Lexus. I knew it was going to have a large amount of luxury appointments that take precedent over outright speed/performance/weight concerns.

Didn't Lexus have an old commercial where the wine glass shattered? They should remake that commercial using an LFA. Maybe I am remembering it wrong. I am loopy from this head cold.

Got any pictures of it beside an F1 to compare?

The shattering wine glass was an LFA ad. Kind of stupid, because the sound wasn't actually Yamaha's primary intention, the 3 stage intake geometry was about the power curve. Sound generator/quality on the LFA is secondary. Voice over guy is annoying, too.

The old commercial was a pyramid of wine glasses not moving while on the hood of an LS revving its motor or something.

But the commercial of it ripping around Fuji is epic beyond words.

I have a love/hate/envy relationship with that car...

Some Toyota employees recreated the LS balancing act not long ago. Using a new LS.

I will have to look for the Fuji commercial, sounds cool.

I <3 the LS and the LFA. The LFA is about exclusivity and engineering...not numbers. That's why it's "slower" than cars that cost half as much. Anybody else have a proprietary carbon fiber loom they're using to build car chassis?

Way too expensive for what it is.
Not exactly pretty or exotic looking.
Slower than almost all of it's competitors.
Horrible rear end design.
Slower than a 2012 GT-R Black Series which costs a 1/4 of what the LFA demands.

It's great and all that toyota made a real supercar, but the LFA is hardly iconic.

But hey, it does have one of the coolest gauge clusters ever.
You know, if you say that, FR-S/BRZ is in same boat. It's expensive as GC, Mustang & other heavy weight sports car & slower than those cars.

I had a chance to ride in one & gotta say, it's a lot nicer than R35. Sound come inside is great. It's really a music to my ears.

LFA isn't for everyone, just like FRS/BRZ. Is that bad thing? Maybe, but I'm glad Toyota made LFA

Here's a pic if LFA I've rode in. It's kinda funny local police stop by to check em out (as you can see in the back lol)

I agree with you about it being disappointing. I like the looks and roar though.

Flaws with design.

And the NSX is one of my favorites.

Wow, weathertech just got my hopes up to shoot them right down.

They FINALLY have the FR-S as a vehicle you can select on their website....but they still don't have the digital fit floor liners! So freaking disappointing.

@Dimman home depot had the high density foam but only in 8 foot pieces that are 50 bucks
I'm at Lowes and they only have the low density crap. Maybe I should just go steal some FSAE foam. Too bad it's a 1 hour drive to school...

Try asking if they have broken pieces that you just have for free. They just chuck it and can't sell it. The stuff my high school got was free broken bits.

Hmmm maybe I'll try that next time. I think I will first ask some of the other FSAE teams around the area that are closer if they have a few scrap pieces of that stuff.

Actually, I might just use wood and spray foam. Got some Gorilla Glue, should come in handy.
