If you are in the right lane, just slow down a tad and they'll move to the "passing lane". Get on with the rest of your day and be happy that you are helping the world to be a better place.

Last word of (a) is "except:" so I ask you to see that section, sub-section (3) "On a roadway that is divided into three or more clearly marked lanes for vehicular traffic, subject to the rules applicable to these roadways;". Unless there's a no passing sign, highways aren't subject to this code in MD.

while delivering, i stay in the right lane 90% of the time, unless i need to pass someone or turn. i still get assholes who decide "oooh, he delivers pizza! he's gonna drive fast!" and ride my ass. letting off the gas/spraying them with wipers works wonders. especially since my nozzles are aimed incorrectly. one goes to the top of my windshield, so it goes over the car extremely well.

Do 55 like me, save even more gas! (I would go faster if I could tolerate the noise) Do you still have the Yaris? 1NZ C52 right? Revs about what, 3000rpm at 65? I guess the 1NZ has a kinda short stroke, so that's not too bad. 91.5mm stroke + 1997 primitive engine design + 3300rpm = disastrous fuel economy (if I do 55 I can get about 40mpg, 65 it plummets to 35, 75 it plummets to high 20s, but I like 20-25mph = 55-60mpg :P)

As for all the banter about people doing the speed limit, under the speed limit, blah blah, for some cars (such as mine and Celicas) you need to specify whether you're talking about the "speed" or the speed. "speed" on an MR2 Spyder is overstated by 10% lol. "65" on the speedo is only 60. I try to use 3000rpm (~55mph), and stick in the right lane and move over to give other people the hint that they should pass.

Yep I still have my ecocar! If I'm doing 65 I get roughly 38-39mpg. If 55... whoa~ I wouldn't even know how much more I'd get.

60-65 is about 3k RPM. Lol I love this eco car but holy shit its so slow sometimes. haha

Probably high 40s lol. When you're in a ragtop whose top fabric starts making annoying noises at 60mph, you start to understand just how much stronger the aerodynamic forces are at higher speed. The fastest I'll go is 60, intermittently hitting 65.

The 1NZ apparently has decent potential, some guy swapped it into an MR2, set redline to 8500 or something, put a turbo on it, and it was reliable in autocross! Hell, 8500rpm, cams, tune and the usual bolt-on fare I would guess is good for 150hp (needs high comp pistons). I really want one, but it's too much hassle. Oh and, it is 25% lighter than a 2ZZ!

I could get probably get much better mpg in the FRS if it wasn't so fun to change gears and downshift all the time.. bah

Unless rev matching to 3rd and taking a corner like a baus! Then its all boring cuz well... not as many corners on a busy freeway.

I want a new car but man.. I'll miss getting the awesome mileage. Rofl

I probably should have stated before this thread was created that when I had boxed the tailgating car right next to a big rig was on a double lane highway. I usually spend most of my time in the left because more than half-time I'm speeding by most drivers. If I do notice someone is speeding from a far and catches up up to me, I'll move over for them if I can and they don't tailgate me for it. Otherwise I'll be an asshole right back at you.

Me... Either 1.box them in with other slower traffic
2. Simply slow down (sometimes 20mph) until they change lanes than I book it. (just to make it obvious I was messing with them)

I also heard of someone who would flick pennies out of his sunroof. (I hope he was lying)
Anyway - share some good stories.
I just tap my brakes to make them realize they cant stop fast enough in an emergency. Works 95% and for the remaining 5% they are just assholes and they dont care, so I will change lanes, slow down, whatever it takes to get away from them and NOT interact with them afterward. That could be looking for trouble or road rage.

Here in Ontario we have 100 km speed limits on our highways. It is a well known fact that you can drive 119 all day and not get pulled over, so that is exactly what I do every single day on a toll highway using cruise. What pisses me off is when I'm in the left lane at 119kph, everything is cool, then someone comes along and crawls up my ass. Naturally, I move over to let them pass, and they then speed up to like 122 kph. What's the point, just to make me move? It happend sometimes 2-3 times in a 110 km trip.

Posted on the highway. As in, there is none unless there's a sign stating otherwise.
