Doesn't changing the trans fluid, void your transmissions warranty?

Talked to subaru of america and It doesnt unless it was obviously done wrong...just like changing your oil doesnt void engine warranty.

If you throw a quality trans fluid in this car and after a week you are still having issues with the trans being notchy or difficult to engage gears either you should not be driving a manual trans or your transmission has a serious problem.

I have shifting issues as well. When the car is cold, I cannot get into second so I have to shift to 3rd instead.

The car has 5000miles and I replaced the fluid with Redline MT90. It didn't make any difference when it is cold and it seemed to be better when it's very hot.

My friend has the same issue and his car is even worse. He tried Motul Gear 300, it made it worst. He went with MT90 at the end and issue still not fixed.

Anyone tried any fluids that work ?

The Redline is 75w-90 and the Pentosin MTF-2 is 75w-80.
The Pentosin has had some rave reviews in these threads for solving syncro problems, especially cold.
Why not give that a go and let us know how it works out?

Same issues when it's cold as well. After about 5 miles or so, it becomes smooth. It's definitely something I don't enjoy during the commute in the morning.

It's summer here so I will make sure to have the oil changed before winter.

Well Yes at 750miles I too have a rough shifting transmission/clutch & a clunk in the drive train. It's been like this since day one. I have 40 years experience driving manual transmissions is 240Z, VW, RX=7 Mustang & big trucks + others. My FR-S tranny shifts like its worn out into 1st & 2nd , clunks & grinds. Feels like the input shaft has excessive end-play??

I switched over my diff and tranny fluid to redline and it did solve everything. It just feels a lot more engaged and smooth. Getting into each gear gate is so much easier. Can't recommend this enough especially if you drive the car in the winter or cold temps.

A friend of mine said that the shift feel on the triple-cone synchro gears (1st, 2nd, AND 3rd I think) would be funky due to the triple cone synchro.
