Wrong again. The issue is not the tranny and I'm on all of those sites. Get a new clutch and shifter and go to town on it. Most of the Boss guys are RACING their cars with the trannies. They have occasional shifting issues but they are pretty good trans.

LOL at the Shelby comment... For the 1000th time the car is built by Ford and the GT500 has always had the Tremec.

Man, that is funny.... But makes little sense.

Hate to spoil all the fun but a GT will outperform the FRS in pretty much every category. I love both my cars, but the truth is the truth.

Since you own both, what do you think about handling comparisons?

The new GT seemed heavy on the front end when I test drove one.Does the Boss feel as light as the FRS? Obviously the mustang front end is heavier, but how is the feedback at the steering wheel? Is it as effortless as the FRS?

Before I bought the FR-S my Boss felt light because I had a 2011 GT500 before it (Still lighter than my 2010 GT500) which was heavier in the front end. However, when I drive the Boss now it feels big and heavier given the small size and light weight of the FR-S. The Boss has fantastic handling that grips where the FR-S has fantastic handling that drifts. The electronic power steering implementations in each car provide good driver feedback. On the Mustang the steering has three different feel settings and I use Sport. At the end of the day they're both fun cars respectively. I'm lucky to own both.

People. We're all fans of the FRS and BRZ here, but let's not get carried away from reality. The reality is, a cruddy V6 mustang will outperform these cars in stock for stock form in any situation. Drag race, road course, twisties (whatever the hell that means), FRS and BRZ will lose given the same driver skill. These cars just don't have enough power or grip.

Winning races/competition is NOT the point of this car, and is NOT what makes it so special.

Anyone that talks trash about Corvettes and Mustangs will get a nice slice of humble pie if they ever decide to learn how to drive at a real race track. A properly setup mustang is a force, and the Corvette is nearly unstoppable. A carbon edition Z06 will run similar lap times to a 911 GT3 cup car, which is a full-on race car you buy from the factory.

Any here in norcal heard of David Ray, of Hooked on Driving? His mustang will smoke anyone here without breaking a sweat. Yes, people that rev at you at a stoplight are morons. Rip on their idiotic mentality. Not on the car, which is actually more capable than yours.

It's hard to explain but the FRS fits better, meaning when I drive it you can tell the car was made to be a drivers car. It's more like a miniature Corvette while the Mustang is a GT car. The Boss has wonderful power and grip but I do feel like the FRS has better road feel to it bc of the lower driving position and small size. The Mustang is just a big car.

Well said. I love the car but I get irritated when people trash talk the Mustang. It's the best performing car for this price range (26-32k). The new 5.0 is a bad ass ride.

This. Agreed 100%.

That being said, I did get revved at by a mustang the other day, who then proceeded to peel out and weave in and out of traffic like a complete idiot. Yeah, I know your car is faster than mine. I'm not gonna race you on the street, dude. This isn't "Fast and the Furious". I'm just trying to get home - leave me alone.
