Both of my replacement taillights are useless. Tons of condensation the passenger side looks like a fishbowl. This pic was from 2 weeks ago. the water is now over the chrome trim.

sorry for the repost but i want to make sure everyone knows there is hope

And if you have issues with water/condensation with the warranty replacement lights, go through this process again... call scion experience team etc.. and i think the more warranty repairs they have to correct the faster Toyota/Scion/Subaru will work to remedy this or create a permanent solution if needed (at least my $.02)
Thanks for the number. Unfortunately, my first attempt to get my passenger tail light replaced due to condensation as well was rejected by the tech because it was normal to his own eye. He told me that he usually do a walk around the lot and normally, all tail light have that.

However, I took it to another dealership, and was told that it was not normal especially the driver side does not have the condensation. Unfortunately, the order will take more than 2 weeks, which I will not be in town to get it replace.

So with that being said, I'll try again at the first dealership and if they refuse again, I guess I'll have to give Scion customer service a call.

Multiple visits to dealership in itself are hassles. The housing gasket looks like my WRX gaskets and water will leak again down the road, past warranty. RTV it once and leak proof the light for the rest of the car's life.

I agree with you. I HATE going to the dealer, and it is the LAST resort.

Oh great after 6 months of owning my car, I just noticed condensation for the first time today, I wash it and spray the hell out of it and nothing, but it was really cold out this morning and when I came out from the gym, condensation...

thought I was lucky enough to get away from this.

did not read this thread, just wanted to say my frs had condesation in the back right tail light after the second day in my posession. Toyota ordered me a whole new light with only a picture I had taken of the car. They said usually the condensation would have to be present at the time, which it wasnt. I hope other dealerships are as nice.

Called the dealer a couple weeks ago, told them about my passenger taillight, and brought the car in to have it replaced this morning under warranty. Pretty painless.

That's good hopefully my dealership won't be a pain or anything.

Any condensations coming back though? I've heard stories where this only helped temporarily

Yup, my post a few days ago (#454) - unfortunately mine came back after about 4,000 miles. Same side, passenger tail light only.

They installed it wrong, either the tightened it too tight a cracked the mounting bosses, or they didn't tighten it in the correct sequence.

based on all these tail light warranty replacements, you would have thought toyota and subaru would have contracted TYC to make an aftermarket tail light and sent us those as replacements after thorough R& D of course lol

Yeah, I'll probably have a look at it to see if anything is cracked, but I will bringa copy of the pdf to bring it to their attention when I take it in.

No, the condensation never returned. My condensation was strange tho. It came on a sunny day when the sun was beating on it. No moisture in the air. But Florida tends to be muggy anyways.
