I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. You can't tell from any pics other than this one but I finally found what you were talking about.

Even the rear seats are racing bucket seats. They definitely wanted to project this car as a car with good handling/track abilities! Oh please please don't let the bean counters ruin this car... let it come out as pure to this concept as possible.

Agreed! It should be an easy transition for me One of the things I initially loved about the s2000 was the simplistic driver centric layout. Showed that the car was all about the driving experience and the driver and that's what the FT-86 reminds me of so far. Guess that's why I'm so drawn to it even though I'm perfectly happy with my S2000 still.

They should offer the two-tone theme in the real car.

Might bump up costs too much? Any Toyota or Lexus currently offer two tone interior?

Maybe as an option? Standard on the IS-F but obviously more expensive.

back in 2000-2005 the celica GT's got two tone seats which was dependent on the exterior color of the car if that matters.

Nice that's good to know! So Toyota has already done this before on a not too expensive car. Would really love to see an interior with two tone. They paid a ton of attention to the interior's design of the FT86 concept so it'd be a shame to see the production version with a parts-bin interior.

I've been having trouble seeing how the trunk would open, I really hope it's a hatch back like the original AE86. I have a 2002 Celica and I think it's awesome that I can fold down the back seats and fit a cooler, two bikes, and some bags for a camping trip and still be totally comfortable up front. But I wonder how easy (or hard) it would be to fold down the rear seats on that concept. Hmmm... functionality versus awesomeness.

It's so awesome that this is taking some cues from the s2000. I love my S's interior. Nothing is out of reach and the seats are some of the best I've ever sat in. I might just keep the S now and have both that and the 86.
