Target market for the 86 is 35-49 with a household income above $150k (not including your parents).

They made an advertisement pitched at kids who like cartoons and corollas held together with zip ties.

Should have used Neal Bates (who actually speaks English).

Same here. This is a good commercial, and I get so happy every time I see a review or commercial with a hot lava car.

As a non Aussie, had no idea who Neal Bates is, but you'll be pleased to know that he has bought an 86! :happy0180:

Not putting under the bus here. But Keiichi tsuchiya career started before neal bates. Keiichi career started in in 1977 long before the Ae86 came out and he drove for toyotas=1984 Fuji Freshman series race (Toyota AE86)= 6 wins.
And neal bates ran 1991World Rally Championship 56th Toyota Celica GT-Four Neal Bates Motorsport. Thats when his career started. "CAREER" not driving. So I would see why keiichi tsuchiya would support the ae86. And the community would definitely know who tsuchiya. Im not saying truth, Im just stating facts.

The main point is that Tsuchiya is connected to the 86, Bates is not. Both are impressive drivers and both are connected with Toyota, but Tsuchiya's presence makes more sense.
