Funny though, my very first 75 tailgating experience is actually at NorCal (from San Franscisco airport to the downtown area). After a while, you get use to it.

When I visit LA and Anaheim, I distinctively remember I was in the left-most lane on highway, doing whatever speed along with traffic, and I was ok when I do that over the rental Chrysler Intrepid. That was a powerful car to do highway chase.

That works (if you have a badge and a gun).

From what I learned from driving the 405... 91 and 5 quite often.. at night..

The slowest speed is.. 80... and the fastest is 100. Lol.

Btw. I also don't think people understand So Cal's speed limit. If it says... 65 you're allowed to go 75. If it says... 55 speed limit. You're allowed to go 75. 75 is the "lenient" speed where you won't get pulled over. :> Surface streets.. You can go 5 above and won't get caught.

Also.. People seem to LOVE lane jumping without checking ANY MIRRORS.

Here in Georgia, the state requires a minimum of 10mph over the posted speed limit on highways and 5mph over on surface streets in order to obtain a conviction. Except in construction and school zones. At least I learned something useful from working at a law office for 4 years.

Good luck with that.

The last cop who pulled me over said, "If you are doing 1 mph over the speed limit for 1 second, I'm going to cite you." And the Traffic Court judge was more than happy to agree with him.

I think a good rule of thumb is go the same speed as everyone else, or a little less if everyone else is going way over the limit, and no one will come looking for you...

That is very true. You do not want to be the slow-ass on the highway where everyone is driving fast, but you also don't want to be the fastest one for police to look for you.

However, sometimes if you are driving fast enough behind another one, the police will still get you. As I said, sometimes the police just get whoever stop the car when they are behind you....
