Goodyear Eagle F1 tires
My local tire guy told me he was invited to a track event to test tires and these really stood out to him. They are a little pricy so I wanted some opinions before I went for it. Also what do you think about having them on as a daily tire. With the price of these tires I might not have money for new rims so they might have to sit on the stock rims for a little bit.

I had some f1-gs2 I believe on my trans am .. They were very good tires .
That is until I floored her and there was no such thing as good tires then. I would run them on my frs if I was FI. |

Depends on what you want out of them? How much do you care about treadwear? How much do you car about road noise? Are you upgrading from the stock tires because you want more grip? Even the stickiest version (Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2, not available in anything close to a good size for these cars) is a 220 treadwear rating so it's probably not going to be the grippiest option out there. The Hankook RS3's are 140. There's also about a dozen different Eagle F1 tires... a couple are even all seasons. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/goody...year-tires.jsp

Eagle F1 Asymmetric or Asymmetric 2?
Go to Tire Rack, read test results: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=140 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=162 Best (only?) direct objective comparisons you're likely to find. I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports for the FD, no regrets

I was going to get the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 until I found out about the Continental Extreme Contact DW. Similar performance, very light, better tread wear rating than the Eagles
VERY HAPPY overall! |

The more I read online the more confused I get lol. I really just want a good AutoX tire I can leave on the car and use daily I have coil overs on the car and I can adjust camber if needed for any future comments. Thanks everyone you are all giving me a lot to look into before I make my final choice.

The Star Spec Z1's (TW rating of 200) are about the best you can get that are rated >= 200.

You're automatically ineligible w/ coilovers for stock--you have an STX car @ the very least.
So, treadware won't be of concern for a streetie--so, your best tire choice is the Hankook R-S3 (previously mentioned by wparsons). It's the best dry-grip tire out there, IMO. It's not the best in the wet, but seeing you live in PHX, I don't think rain will be much of an issue for you. The GY tire can't come close to the dry performance of the R-S3s--and they should be much cheaper... |

I meant street tires not stock and that is something new in the works I hear anyone with less than 200 tread wear isn't considered on a street tire even if dot approved. Do you know if the rs-3 are good in extreme heat like the over 120 degree pavement in Phoenix.

The 2013 SCCA rulebook hasn't been released yet AFAIK, but there HAS been word of a minimum treadwear increase for this year, but if you know how the treadwear number is decided, I don't doubt Hankook will just make a "new" RS3 (RS4 maybe?) and raise the treadwear to make them legal. |
