Got mine fixed and back, after heavy rain and snow they still look dry inside. Found some Toyota boxes left in my trunk, turns out they left the old tails in there. I have to give them back to Toyota for warranty reasons but for a second I thought it would be cool to use them for experiments
Also: for anyone with repeat repairs, I would suggest you ask the service techs to use the Toyota info system or call corporate for more information about the proper repair. It takes more than just a swapout to make sure the seals are not compromised. Mine needed body repairs in the mounting areas, and I doubt that I have a magically unique car with this unique problem. just got mine replaced today, I had about an inch+ of water collect in both rear lights at one point and with the cold/freezing rain coming down today I haven't noticed anything yet.

And to add, I don't know about everyone else but after driving around with water in my tails and getting both tails replaced, it feels like I have a brand new car again! I'm back to being super excited again. I was a bit sad with this TL issue

I didn't think they actaully had to replace the tails, just the seals?
I have condensation in my drivers side tail.

I purchased my FR-S Friday and it has condensation in the rear passenger light. The dealership is replacing the lens with no questions asked.

So glad I haven't taken mine in yet. Hopefully they will come up with a permanent solution before my warranty expires...
