best solution is to turn off the cel bit flag in the ecu. But that said, you are FAR better off to remove the front cat, and replace the second with a 200 cell count metalic.

"Track pipe" is typically a short pipe you install after pulling the axleback muffler so you don't melt all the plastic at the rear of the vehicle if you run you car at the "track" without the OEM muffler. After market exhaust system parts come in several configurations: Axle back, cat back and header back. Some OEM compatible, some proprietary. O2 sensors are located on the header with the primary cat. Removing the 2nd cat will not affect the O2 readings as there is no sensor downstream from it but, in some states that will get you in trouble as it is a violation of federal law. In California, they enforce this and you can get fined. I'm thinking the 2nd pipe (w/cat) is what you meant and the term for that pipe is "test pipe", "frontpipe", "downpipe" or "high flow cat (HFC) frontpipe/downpipe".

Correct but, midpipe is the one with the resonator.

@Hotsaucze...here's my current set-up....

MOTIV over pipe and high flow cat front pipe, both with some exhaust wrap to help cut down on Texas summer time heat under the hood:

Some say the overpipe does not add that much HP when added and dyno'd but, when you see the OEM overpipe without the heat shielding and all the indentations on it...why not?

Perrin "cat back" resonated:

Anyway, I'm just about ready to see Joe at Dynotronics now!!!!! Santa's got me tapped out right now though.

Yeah, tempt me some more, man!!!!

Guys, I might need your help/opinions very soon...

Within the next month or so I'm planning on purchasing a few items for my "86" - namely exhaust, coilovers & new wheels/tires. On my previous cars I've installed these types of parts myself & it wasn't much of an issue. On this one, bieng my daily driver (the Miata's not ready for the daily grind), & with my limited time schedule I'm going to have to take it to a shop.

Is there any reputable, trustworthy place here in San Antonio that can install coilovers without raping me on price? Also, is there a place that do "real" alignments to the spec I provide?

Back home (Dallas), I know at least half a dozen places I'd feel comfortable taking my car to, but since I've moved out here, I've been doing all my install stuff myself on my "toy" cars... I haven't heard of a reputable shop in San Antonio, admittedly though I have pulled myself outta' "the scene" & I'm not in the loop...

So hey, if you guys have any info on "helpin' a brotha' out", please pass it along via PM or on this thread... Thanks!

Pretty, how much were they? Would 234/40 not fit right?
