Yeah a bit harsh, and personally I'm glad you shared your experience with traction control off.

Most of us who bought the twins are likely to try and push the limits of traction, it's part of why we bought it in the first place instead of a Camry... and especially in the rain where you can get the limits of traction without having to do high speeds.

Anyhow I've enjoyed driving in the rain with sport mode on, and now I know not to go all the way to traction control off, so thanks for sharing so many of us can learn from your experience.

I learned my lesson when I flipped and srote off my 1985 Golf GTI in 1986.

Your lesson wasn't quite as harsh, I had to go without a car for several years as a result of my stupidity.

Your insurance must suck. My premiums aren't high at all and I'm with state farm insurance.

I agree. I have found sport mode to be much more forgiving, and more fun.

You can enjoy your car without driving like that.
It's already an expensive car so if you're OK to drift then you're exposing yourself to these types of situations.

Stop being a moron on public roads. You're not a race car driver, and if you were you'd know to drive safely on the streets. Go do some HPDE events and learn the limits of the car there, in a controlled environment.

Why on earth would you want to do a "burn out" in a BRZ anyway?

FWIW: My insurance is 50/mo. 100/300/100 w a 250$ deductible

Why didnt subaru/toyota design the car with side skirts that are removable? All my previous cars are like that... it makes more sense than having a one piece thats connected to the rear quarter panels and everything else around there. Is it for lower cost?

The car doesn't HAVE side skirts. Ground-effects/rockers can be added on.

And falsifying an insurance claim, yeah, honorable guy right there.

His fault for being an idiot, but he makes us all pay by claiming it.

Not harsh, just the truth.

Common sense isn't learned...

Hmm dont see how the claim was falsified maybe glossed over is a better way of putting it. Either way hes being truthful here and facing whatever the forums are throwing his way. If people are gonna cry about premiums going up maybe you should try something cheaper like public transportation...lol go buy a honda and then you can cry to me about insurance rates.

He intentionally broke the law, (cookies in an intersection) did damage to his car, and claimed it. That is ILLEGAL.
